Addendum No. 1forProposed Site Signs for:Briarwood, Bristow and Jody Richards Elementary SchoolsBowling Green, KentuckyTO:All Plan HoldersFROM:Sewell and Sewell Architects, PLLCDATE:February 20, 2013The purpose of this Addendum is to clarify further the requirements of the Plans andSpecifications.The bidders shall be governed by the information in this Addendum as if included in the Plansand Specifications.This Addendum does hereby become a part of the Contract Documents.Each bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the space provided in the Bid Form.This Addendum consists of five (5) 8 1/2x11 pages.General Items1.The Bid Date shall be extended to March 4th, 2013 in lieu of February 25th 2013. Bidsshall be submitted prior to 10:00 a.m. (local time) on Monday, March 4th, 2013.2.All site signs shall be installed a minimum of 20 feet from all public roadways perthe local zoning requirements. Final locations shall be confirmed with Ownerprior to installation. Note: Schools are exempt from some local zoningrequirements such as signage sizes, etc.3.Contractor is responsible for applying for and obtaining any and all signagepermits required for installation of the site signs at each school.
Page 2Briarwood Elementary ONLY1.At Briarwood Elementary the Contractor shall provide (2) ¾” conduits from the NewClassroom Addition, currently under construction, to the proposed site sign location. Oneconduit shall be used for Ethernet connection (provision for providing LED signs inAlternate No. 1 – see below) and one for power. Each conduit length shall beapproximately 150 l.f. The contractor shall also include pricing for providing Ethernetconnection to the Administration office to the site sign (Include in Alternate No. 1 – seebelow) and electric power from the mezzanine level of the New Addition to the site sign(Include in Base Bid).Architectural Items at ALL (3) Schools1.Refer to Drawing Sheet A2.0 and “Form of Proposal”.Contractors shall provide Alternate pricing to DELETE the Manual, Double Sided,Changeable Letter Message Boards and REPLACE with LED Monochrome MessageDisplays, viewable from both sides of the site sign, at each of the schools.Note: Price shall be listed as “Alternate No. 1” and written in at the bottom of page 2 ofthe Form of Proposal, page FOP-2 as a Lump Sum Price. This price shall be for (1)double view LED Monochrome Message Display and associated power supply and theEthernet Fiber Optic sign communication connections to Administration Office for acomplete installation. If the Owner decides to accept this Alternate No. 1 it will bemultiplied by the number of schools that decide to have the LED Message Displays. Ifonly (1) school accepts this price it will be as listed for Alternate 1, but if only (2) or all(3) accept this price then it will be the Alternate 1 price x the number of schools thataccept the Alternate.The LED Monochrome Message Display shall be “Daktronics” Galaxy 20 MMMonochrome 3500 Series or Equal by other manufacturer. The Model No. shall be“AF – 3500 – 48 x 80 – 20 – R – 2V “. Refer to attached manufacturer specificationsheets for additional information.This unit’s dimensions are 3’-10” H. x 5’-9” W. so Contractor shall coordinate thisdifference in rough opening with the masonry opening in the site sign if the Alternate isaccepted.End of Addendum.
