Virtue of Prayer(Salah)1. In ayat 45 of Surah Ankabut (29) Allah assuresthe Muslims that Innas Salata tanha ‘anilfahsha-i wal munkar (Surely, Salah keeps oneaway from shameful and evil deeds.)2. The Prophet (Blessings and peace be upon him)once said to his Companions: “If there was ariver at the door of anyone of you and he took abath in it five times a day, would you noticeany dirt on him?” They said, “Not a trace of dirtwould be left.” The Prophet (Blessings andpeace be upon him) said: “That is the exampleof the five obligatory prayers with which Allahblots out evil deeds.” (Sahih Bukhari and SahihMuslim)6
