SOUTHApartmentsThe South Apartments consist of the following fourcomplexes: Kramer, Brandes, Steger, and Lange. Eachcomplex has two full apartments and six efficiencyapartments accommodating 32 students.There are four residents in each apartment consisting oftwo bedrooms and one bath. Each bedroom is sharedbetween two residents and the bathroom is sharedbetween all four residents.Each apartment has a furnished living room with a couch,chair, entertainment cube, and kitchen table with chairs.All kitchens have a stovetop and either a microwave or anoven as well as a full refrigerator.Each bedroom has two beds, two closets, and two desks.The full apartments are units 1 and 2, while the efficienciesare units 3-8. FAQSCan I request a specific roommate?Students can request a roommate and we will do our best to accommodate it.All requests must be mutual and should be submitted as early as possible forthe best chance to be honored.Do I have to live on campus?We require students to live on campus their freshman and sophomoreyear unless they are 21 years of age, commuting from their permanentaddress within a 30-mile radius, married or have children, or have livedon campus at another university for a minimum of four semesters.Can I have a single/private room?All freshmen are assigned a roommate unless there is a medical/ADA needfor a single room during their first semester. Singles may be available in thesecond semester but are subject to availability. Sophomores, Juniors, andSeniors are eligible for a single room subject to availability.When can I sign up to live on campus?New students can sign up for housing once they have been admitted tothe university, provided their deposit to Admissions, and submitted theirbacterial meningitis paperwork. Current students will sign up for housingduring the spring semester during the designated sign-up period thattypically takes place in March or April.Do you provide accommodations for medical needs?We do have ADA accessible rooms and provide accommodations forappropriate needs as determined by our ADA Coordinator. Properdocumentation must be submitted to the ADA Office to be considered forreasonable accommodations.How do I sign up to live on campus?New students can complete the housing application on MyTLU. Go to theAdmissions tab and click on “Apply for Housing.” The application mustbe complete to be assigned housing.What are my options for living on campus?Freshman housing options are Centennial Hall, Clifton Hall, Trinity Hall,and Baldus Hall. Sophomores live in Seguin Hall and Knutson Hall. Juniorsand seniors reside in our apartment community. Seniors also have theoption to live in Hahn Hall.If I live on campus, do I have to have a meal plan?Students living in a residence hall must have a meal plan unless they areliving in one of our campus apartments.How are roommates assigned?We use a lot of factors to assign roommates for freshmen. Informationprovided on the housing application will be used to will be used to identifya compatible roommate option. We also use information from coaches andacademic majors if available. Returning students traditionally select their ownroommates after freshman year.When do I find out who my roommate is?Freshmen will find out who their roommate will be during the first week ofJuly or prior to Bulldog Basics.If I wish to change rooms or roommates, can I?Yes, students are allowed to request a room or roommate cchange throughthe Residence Life page on MyTLU. You must complete a room changerequest form and then you will be contacted by your Area Coordinator.
