RULES FOR TV/RADIO MEDIA ENTRIESNews organizations and freelancers are eligible to enter FMC’s Folio Awards.Each story must focus, all or in part, on Long Island, N.Y. (Nassau and Suffolkcounties).Entry rules and entry fees apply. Entries must be submitted with entryforms. Failure to comply with rules will result in disqualification.1. Long Island content must be substantial. Entries need not be exclusivelyabout Long Island, but the topics should be of particular interest or concern toLong Islanders or Long Island communities.2. Entries must be received with payment by due date.3. Entries must be submitted using official entry form.4. Entries must be as broadcast, published or posted – no edited versions orcomposites.5. Entries must be broadcast or published between 12/1/13 – 11/30/14.6. Entries with incomplete entry forms will be disqualified.7. Any news outlet is eligible to enter. Entries may be submitted by media outlet or, if the work of a freelancer, by the freelancer.8. The judges reserve the right to withhold awards in any category or totransfer an entry to another category.9. Podcasts are eligible for entry in the Radio category.10. Internet TV programs are eligible for entry in the TV category.11. Entries may consist of a hyperlink to the story being submitted, or on adisc that is compatible with Windows Media Player.12. Television entries: Only ONE entry per per link or disc.13. Radio entries: Only ONE entry per link or disc.14. Entrants are responsible for ensuring hyperlinks remain active throughMarch 31, 2015, to allow time for the judging process to be completed.15. Links and completed entry forms must be emailed toinfo@fairmediacouncil.org by the due date.16. Entries may be paid for with credit card or by check made out to FairMedia Council. RULES FOR SOCIAL MEDIA ENTRIES1. FMC Folio Awards for Social Media are open to businesses, nonprofitorganizations and media in the greater New York metro area.2. The subject matter does not have to be Long Island related.3. Agencies may submit work on behalf of clients. (Client and agencywill be recognized if deemed a winner.)4. Campaigns may include use of one social media channel, or acombination of channels, including but not limited to social networking sites, web sites, blog sites and email.5. All entries must contain elements of news or information important toa community or target audience. Entries purely promotional innature will be disqualified.6. Submissions must have become active campaigns between Dec. 1,2013 to Nov. 30, 2014. (Campaigns may still be active to beconsidered eligible, as long as tangible results may be documented.)7. Entries with incomplete entry forms will be disqualified.8. The Fair Media Council reserves the right to withhold awards in anycategory or to transfer an entry to another category.9. Entries become property of the Fair Media Council.10. Entries must be received with payment by Jan. 29, 2015 by 5:00 p.m.11. Late entries will not be eligible.12. Entry fees apply.13. Entries must include: Summary not to exceed 200 words of concept, goals and definedoutcome of campaign. The summary is expected to include: A title. A 200-word (or less) description that highlights the strategy behind the entryand the reason it deserves an award, gives an understanding of thebackground and the challenge and evidence of results. The summaryshould include the hyperlinks for all social media channels utilized. Analytics & results.Any related Creative Materials: Five copies of hard-copy materials mustbe submitted, with a summary attached to each.
