ALLIED HEALTHFINANCIALSERVICESCertified Clinical Medical AssistantCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Pharmacy TechnicianMedical Assistants help doctors byperforming a variety of clinical andadministrative duties. The scope of theirduties generally depends on the size ofthe practice in which they are employed,with those in larger practices tendingto be more specialized. Administrativeduties may involve telephone monitoring,patient record organization, appointmentscheduling, billing and bookkeeping.Some common clinical assignments maybe taking vital signs, electrocardiography,blood draws, performing basic laboratorytests, preparing patients for the physicianvisit and assisting the physician duringoffice procedures. Students completing allcourse requirements will be eligible to sitfor the National Healthcareer Association(NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant,Phlebotomy Technician, and EKG Techniciancertification exams. American HeartAssociation BLS for Health Care Professionalscertification is also provided during theprogram. The cost of these exams andcertifications is included in the programfee. The Certified Clinical Medical Assistantprogram is a total of 620 hours.The Certified Nursing Assistant Programteaches students how to provide dailybasic care for patients.
