UnittoolpunchingunitsAdjustable base unitshave 11/2" adjustment(3/4"each side of centerline) for punching staggered hole patterns.Unittools 3/4" wide holders permits holes to bepierced up to 5/16" diameter on 3/4" centers. Sixmodels are available.The Single Spring – 6-1/4" shut height units areSmall extrusions arereadily punched onclose hole centers. Pedestal dies allow holesto be punched close toinside leg of angle orother obstructions.recommended where maximum shut height is notgreat enough to accommodate the features availablein the double and triple spring – 7-1/2" shut unitheights. The Double Spring – 7-1/2" shut height unitis recommended for most applications for piercingup to a 5/16" diameter hole in 12 gauge material.The Triple Spring – 7-1/2" shut height unit offersstill greater stripping forces and is recommendedfor the “tough” applications – where the units arestacked up against one another. This unit will pierceup to 5/16" diameter hole in 10 gauge material. Theadjustable punch head offered on these double andtriple spring units provides greater cost savings byincreasing punch life. The punch assembly can beadjusted to “new length” after sharpening.Several different dies are available. Selection ofmost suitable die for the application can have aneconomical advantage. Still greater savings can berealized by “shimming up” the die after excessivesharpening. This feature also permits a constant dieheight that eliminates material distortion resultingfrom punching with irregular die heights. The splitbore feature provided in the pedestal at die sectionof the holder permits easy removal of die. This feature allows the die bore to be self adjusting in eventof excessive wear.
