Application Process Checklist & InstructionsApplying for CTE College Credit at CSN but not sure where to start?Use this checklist and step-by-step instructions to take you through the applicationprocess. Be sure to apply before May 6, 2022.LET’S GO!To get started, scan the QR code or type in the web address, www.csn.edu/cte-application,then select Step 1: CSN Admissions Application.CREATE AN ACCOUNTYou will need to create a username and password. This allows you to save and return toyour CSN Admissions Application if needed before finishing. If you have an NSHE ID fromanother institution, you still need to create an account and submit a CSN AdmissionApplication.VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSOnce you create an account, an email will be sent to the address provided to verify theemail.SIGN-IN TO YOUR CSN ADMISSIONS APPLICATION ACCOUNTReturn to the CTE College Credit Application Process webpage and select Step 1: CSNAdmissions Application. You will now be able to sign-in to your account using the usernameand password that you created and complete the CSN Admissions Application. Use thestep-by-step instructions to fill out the required information.CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR YOUR NSHE IDYour CSN Admissions Application will take 3-5 days to process. Check your email for yourNSHE ID. If you already have an NSHE ID from another Nevada college or university, yourCSN student record will share that same NSHE ID number.CTE COLLEGE CREDIT APPLICATIONOnce you have received your NSHE ID number, you are ready to start the CTE CollegeCredit Application. Return to the CTE College Credit Application Process webpage thenselect Step 2. CTE College Credit Application. Use the step-by –step instructions to fill outthe application.EMAIL CONFIRMATIONAfter completing the CTE College Credit Application, you will immediately receive an emailconfirmation. It is a copy of the information you provided and important follow upinformation. The link in the verificationemail is only active for 24 hours. If you have completed an admissions application or taken dual credit courses with CSN, NSC, orUNLV please provide the NSHE ID number assigned to you.3d. My Personal Information. You must enter your full legal name, date of birth, and gender. Providing asocial security number is OPTIONAL. A social security number is required for federal financial assistance, somescholarships, and by the IRS for the 1098 tax credit.3e. My Contact Information. Enter your home address, phone number, and PERSONAL EMAIL. If you have adifferent mailing address from physical address (where you live) check the box and enter the mailing address.Use a personal email address that you can access after you graduate high school.3g. My Parent or Guardian Education. Optional section. Please choose the highest level of educationcompleted by a parent or guardian.3h. My Race and Ethnicity. Optional section.3i. My Citizenship and Residency. Providing your citizenship status is optional; however, your residencyclassification could be impacted. Answer if you currently live in Nevada and the date you began living in theState. High School Student ID. Enter your high school student ID number.4d. Date of Graduation or Expected Graduation from High School. Enter your graduation or expectedgraduation date. You will need to select 05 for the month and your graduation year. Example: Class of 2022will enter 05/2022 or Class of 2023 as 05/2023.Save before moving on to next page.5. MY ACADEMIC INTEREST.5a. Area of Study. CSN has 11 areas of study. Select the academic area you are interested in studying.Descriptions are provided.5b. Intent. It will serve as your electronic signature.6c. 18 Years of Age of Older. Indicate if you are 18 years of age or older – yes or no.6d. Parent or Guardian Signature. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian will also need toelectronically sign and date the admissions application.7. Save & Return Later. If you are unable to complete your CSN Admissions Application at one time, you canreturn to it later. You will need to click on “Save & Return Later”. When you are ready to finish your CSNAdmissions Application, you can scan the QR code on page 1 of these instructions or go to the following pagewww.csn.edu/cte-application, then select STEP 1. CSN Admissions Application. There you will sign-in usingyour username and password previously created.8. Submit to Finish. If you have completed your application, click on “Submit”. CTE College Credit ApplicationThe CTE College Credit Application includes seven sections that are clear and easy to understandand request general information: Student Information, Address, High School Information, Self-Identification,Parent/Guardian Information, Grade Policy, and Student Signature and Verification. All fields with a redasterisk (*) are required.There are two sections, we would like to bring to your attention – High School Information and Grading Policy.High School InformationWhen you identify your high school, all CTE programs offered will be listed. You will need to select the CTEprogram(s) that you completed or will be completing this academic year in high school.Grade PolicyIf you are requesting a letter grade for your CTE credit, be sure to check the box. Grades are calculated basedon your CTE program grades.When you have completed the CTE College Credit application, select “NEXT”, then “SUBMIT”.As soon as your CTE College Credit application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email tothe email address you provided. Make sure to meet with a college academic advisor or counselorto figure out how to best apply the college course(s) to your educational goals. If the college course(s) havenot been posted to your CSN records at the time you meet with a college academic advisor/counselor, youshould let them know of your anticipated CSN college course(s). Take a copy of your email confirmationwhich lists the college course(s) associated with your high school CTE program.Planning to attend CSN?Congratulations on becoming a future CSN COYOTE! Learn about the CSN enrollment process by t. You will be able to skip the CSN Admissions Applicationbecause you have already been admitted to CSN when you completed it as part of the CTE College Creditapplication process. Once the college class(es) are posted, you will be able to seeit in your MyCSN academic history and in your unofficial transcripts under the summer 2022 term.Confirmation of College CreditAll students will receive an email communication from our office at the end of the summer letting you knowif you met the criteria to earn free college classes through the CTE College Credit program.Official CSN TranscriptsIf you plan to attend a college other than CSN, you will need to request official College of Southern Nevadatranscripts for your college of choice. Please wait to request official transcript until the college classesearned are posted to your CSN records.
