COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that canlead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control andPrevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions areespecially vulnerable. USA Swimming, Inc., cannot prevent you (or yourchild(ren)) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 whileparticipating in USA Swimming sanctioned events. It is not possible to preventagainst the presence of the disease. When not accompanied by the coach, the swimmers legal guardian mustensure compliance.3. "Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out ofswimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriateand is Prohibited."4. Operation of a drone, or any flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue(pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms)

Exceptions may be granted with prior written approval by the USA-S VicePresident of Program Operations.5. All applicable adults participating in or associated with this meet, acknowledgethat they are subject to the provisions of the USA Swimming Minor Athlete AbusePrevention Policy (“MAAPP”), and that they understand that compliance with theMAAPP policy is a condition of participation in the conduct of this competition.CAMERA ZONE:Per Florida Swimming Rule 223.13, Meet Management shall designate and informthe public of “Camera Zones” at each swim meet where both still photography ofa race or a competitor in a race may be taken. Acceptable “Camera Zones” mayinclude, but are not limited to the side course of a pool, team gathering areas,concession area, turn-end of competition course when not in use as a “start end.”Meet Management shall also designate “Non-Camera Zones.” Under NOcircumstances will Camera Zones include the area immediately behind the startingblocks at either end of the race course(s) while they are in use for “race startingpurposes” during competition and warm-ups, locker rooms, restrooms, or anyother dressing areas. Any individual failing to abide by this rule could be subjectto the Florida Swimming Code of Conduct violation as defined in Rule 239.2.TYPE OF MEET:Age Group & Senior, 25 Yards, Prelim and Final Meet for 11 & older & Timed FinalMeet for 10 & under swimmers. Meet management may opt to use fly-over startsat this competition.DATES & TIMES:Friday, April 8; session begins at 5:00PM (warm-up 4:00PM)Saturday, April 9; morning session begins at 8:30 AM (warm up 7:30 AM)Saturday, April 9; 10 & under session will start 30 to 40 minutes after AM session.(Meet management may swim the 10 & under session with the morning session –teams will be notified)Finals 5:00PM (warm-up 4:00PM)Sunday, April 10; morning session begins at 8:30 AM (warm up 7:30 AM)Sunday, April 10; 10 & under session will start 30 to 40 minutes after AM session.(Meet management may swim the 10 & under session with the morning session –teams will be notified)Finals 5:00PM (warm-up 4:00PM)LOCATION:Bobby Hicks Pool, 4120 Mango Ave, Tampa, FL 33616POOL SPECS:Certified 25 Yard, outdoor pool with a minimum of 8 short course racing laneshaving a minimum depth of 4 feet, at both ends, and non-turbulent lane lines.Numerous lanes for constant warm-up. Depending on the timeline we may runtwo short course pools.TIMING SYSTEM:Electronic timing system with scoreboard, manual back-up watches.ELIGIBILTY:Open to registered 2022 USA Swimming swimmers who are members of invitedteams. On deck registration will be allowed. The completed 2022 USA-S form,fee, etc. must be presented to the Referee no later than 45 minutes prior to thestart of the session in which the swimmer first swims.SEEDING:Use 25 yard times. Conversions, using the formula in the current FloridaSwimming Handbook, may be used for entry and seeding purposes. All eventswill be swum fastest to slowest that are timed final. In prelims, all prelim–finalevents will be seeded fastest to slowest with the fastest three heats being circleseeded. All Timed final events will be seeded fastest to slowest and will not becircle seeded. There will be two heats of finals for 11-12, 13-14 and Senior. Meetmanagement may remove the Final B Heat for 11-12, 13-14 and Senior if it feelsnecessary (coaches will be notified if there is a change). Where events can be

combined the meet host, with the concurrence of the Meet Referee, will combinethose events and heats before meet program is published.RULES:Current USA Swimming Technical Rules will govern. (Safety rules as outlined byUSA Swimming will be in effect during all warm-up and warm-down time framesand areas.)AWARDS:Individual events 1st - 3rd Medals, 4th - 10th place ribbons, High Point: 1st placeoverall high point for each Age Group including Senior. Team trophy: 1st placehigh point award (not to include host team.) Relay awards – 1st through 3rd placeribbons.SCORING:Individual events: Relay events: 6-4-2WARM-UP:Enclosed warm-up schedule will be used. Warm-up will start 60 minutes prior tothe start of each day. 10 & u session will be given 30 to 40 minutes Managementmay reduce warm-up time in the competition pool if necessary.SCRATCHES:Prelims/timed finals:No penalty for scratching on the block with the exception of deck seeded events.Failing to show for a properly deck seeded event will result in the swimmerbeing fined 10.00 cash only. There is no event penalty. Upon payment ofthe fine, the swimmer will be eligible to continue competing in the meet.FINALSAny swimmer who competed in a preliminary heat and qualifies forFinals must swim the event during finals unless the swimmerannounced his/her intention to scratch from the event within 30minutes of the announcement of the qualifiers for that event. He/shehas until 30 minutes after his or her final prelim of the day to finalizehis/her scratch with the clerk of course. Failure to do so will result inthe swimmer being barred from his/her next individual event of themeet. Meet Referee has discretion to excuse athletes for medicalreasons. There will be two heats of finals for 11-12, 13-14 and Senior.Meet management may remove the Final B Heat for 11-12, 13-14 andSenior if it feels necessary (coaches will be notified if there is a change).500 free and 400 IM coaches must email ( todd@swimgtsa.com ) scratches bynoon on Friday, April 8th. These events will be seeded after the noondeadline. Please note the scratch times for 400 IM and 500 free events are alsolisted on the order of events pages.DISTANCE CHECK:ENTRY LIMIT:Swimmers 11 & older will be limited to 3 individual events per day and (1) onerelay per swimmer per day, over entries will be dropped at the point of overentry. Swimmers 10 & under will be limited to 3 individual events per day and (1)one relay per swimmer per day, over entries will be dropped at the point of overentry. Relay entries will be limited to three per team per relay event,however teams will indicate relay entries by “A”, “B”, etc. Relays may be droppedif meet management feels the meet will run over the 4 hour time limit. Entrieswill be accepted first come, first served up to the teams that puts the session to 4hr limit. Individual entries will be limited to the first team to take the meet overthe 4 hour time limit.* In order to control the length of the meet, we reserve the right to limit theentries in the 500 free and 400 IM, any event noted on event list and allrelays may be limited. Coaches of affected athletes will be advised prior to themeet.

DECK ENTRIES:Deck Entries will be accepted from Wednesday, March 30 to Saturday, April2,2022. Cost: 10.00 per each individual or relay entry (plus facility fee if notalready entered in the meet) which must be paid at the time the entry is made. Aswimmer may not scratch an event to replace it with a deck entry.ENTRY FEES: 7.00 per prelim/final event 8.00 per relay timed finalFacility charge: 12.00 per swimmer. 4.50 per Individual timed final event 2.00 travel surcharge for out of stateswimmersHeat Sheet Fee: 3.00HEAT SHEET:Heat Sheets will be posted on; www.swimgtsa.com and www.floridaswimming.orgno later than 48 hours prior to the start of the meet. These are to be printed andbrought to the meet. A 3 charge will be applied to each swimmer's entry fee. Alimited number of heat sheets will be available at the meet for purchase.
