We are excited to have somany teams from Southern California participating in this year's event. TOURNAMENT CHECK-INOne hour prior to your first game.There are "Player of the Game" medals for each pool play game. If you havenot picked up your check-in packets prior to your first game, please identifyyour player of the game and be sure to give them their medals as soon aspossible.MATERIALS REQUIRED AT CHECK-INThe following must be presented at check-in:1. A Team Roster completed on the attached form (15 players max). Allteams are limited to the players listed on the verified roster. No playermay be added or changed after the start of your first game. Athleteswho have played travel ball after March 31, 2022 are not eligible.2. A 2022 USA/ASA VTD card (this will take care of items 3, 4, 5 and 6).If no USA/ASA card, then we will require:1. Proof of League/Team Insurance-your regular USA/ASA card will coverthe team/league insurance requirement.2. Birth Certificates for all players. Without proof of age, a player will notbe allowed to play-NO EXCEPTIONS. Teams should have proof of agedocumentation available for challenge throughout thetournament. Ineligible players on your roster will result in forfeiture ofall games played and possible disqualification from the tournamentwith a loss of all fee paid.3. Picture of player with name4. 2022 USA/ASA Invoice from Spring season or All-Star RegistrationSCHEDULEBe prepared to play at your scheduled times. Any team not ready to play atthe scheduled game time will forfeit the game; which results in a 7-0loss. Lake Elsinore Girls Softball reserves the right to change game schedulesand durations to accommodate for weather conditions.

DUGOUTSTeams listed second in pool play and teams at the bottom of a bracket willoccupy the 3 base dugout. The only exception will be back-to-back gameswhen a team will not be required to change dugouts.rdWARM-UPSNo infield practice allowed. Warm-ups may not be conducted in any areaother than those designated areas.SCOREKEEPINGThe home team is the official scorekeeper for all games. You are required toprovide your own scorebook.Home team for pool and bracket play will be determined by a coin toss duringthe pre-game meeting. Each team will present a completed Lineup Card to theumpire at the pregame meeting.GAME TIME LIMITSAll 8U games in the tournament are six (6) inning games, unless time limitsdescribed below are reached prior to the completion of six innings.All 10U, 12U and 14U games in the tournament are seven (7) inning games,unless the time limits described below are reached prior to the completion ofseven innings.POOL PLAY: In pool play, no new inning will start after one (1) hour andtwenty (20) minutes. Games may end in a tie. Play will be stopped at one (1)hour and thirty (30) minutes (drop dead). If at this time the home team isbatting and is leading or had gained a tie in the bottom of the incompleteinning, the score at the time play was stopped will be the final score.Otherwise, the final score will revert back to the last completed inning. Thegame will end if the home team is at bat and leads after one (1) hour andtwenty (20) minutes.ELIMINATION PLAY: For all elimination games (except the championshipgame), no new inning will start after one (1) hour and twenty (20) minutes. Ifregulation play ends in a tie (either by time or innings), the USA/ASAtiebreaker will be in effect beginning with the seventh inning for 8U or the

eighth inning for 10U, 12U and 14U or the first inning to start after the one(1) hour and twenty (20) minute time limit (whichever comes first). Thegame will end if the home team is at bat and leads after one (1) hour andtwenty (20) minutes. NO DROP DEAD.CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES: For the championship games in each bracket, therewill be no time limit. The 8U championship game will be a 6-inninggame. The 10U, 12U and 14U championship games will be 7 inning games. Ifregulation play ends in a tie, the USA/ASA tie-breaker will be in effectbeginning with the seventh (8U) or eighth (10U, 12U and 14U) inning.MERCY RULEThe fifteen (15) run lead after 3, 12 after 4 and 8 after 5 inning "Mercy Rule"will be in effect for all divisions. The Mercy rule will also be in effect duringchampionship games.GAME SCORE REPORTINGThe home team for each game must provide an official scorekeeper. Theumpire for each game will maintain a scorecard to report the final score foreach team. A representative (coach) from each team will also sign the card atthe end of the game. The umpire will turn in the scorecard along with a copyof each team's lineup slip after each game to a tournament official.PROTESTSThere will be no protest filings permitted. Any disputes involving rules willbe resolved by the umpire at that time. All calls made by the umpire will befinal. All player ineligibility disputes will be resolved by the on-site L.E.G.S.tournament official.SEEDING FOR ELIMINATION (BRACKET) PLAYThis is a pool play tournament. Upon completion of pool play, teams will beseeded into a single elimination bracket. Pool play tiebreakers will bedetermined in the following order:1.2.3.4.5.Won/Loss RecordHead to HeadLeast runs allowedMost runs scoredCoin toss**In brackets where a third place pool team may not have to play a1 round elimination game, the 3 place teams will be also rankedstrd

according to the 4 above criteria to determine which 3 place team(s)receive a bye.rdMISCELLANEOUSPlayer Attire: No jewelry or metal hair clips will be worn during games.Uniform shirts must be tucked in at all times.Player Equipment: No metal cleats allowed. All bats must be ASA approvedand may be subject to inspection by the umpire. Helmets and attachedfacemasks must be labeled with the NOCSAE certification and may also besubject to inspection by the umpire and may be disqualified due to visibledamage. All helmets should have a face mask. Any coaches on the field mustbe wearing closed-toe shoes.Manager, Coach and Crowd Etiquette: Managers and coaches areresponsible for their team, staff and fans both on and off the field. All loudartificial noise making devices and pounding the bleachers/fences will not beallowed on or near any playing field. Unruly behavior will not betolerated. Improper conduct during games or anywhere on the premises mayresult in team disqualification from the tournament. There is zero tolerancefor alcohol and smoking on the field/park premises. If anyone is suspected tobe drinking, under the influence of alcohol or other substances, they may beasked to leave the field for the remainder of the day. Anyone ejected from agame will be asked to leave the premises for the remainder of the game. Asecond ejection during the tournament will result in the removal of thatperson for the remainder of the tournament.Please no dogs allowed around the spectator area or playing fields duringgames.PLAYING RULES AND REGULATIONSUSA/ASA RULESUSA/ASA rules will be in effect except as described below. This tournamentwill NOT use the new USA/ASA batting order rule 7.2F.8U Division1. Pitching distance will be 30 feet.2. An USA/ASA approved RIF 1, 10" ball will be used.3. Teams may play with up to 10 defensive players. The 10 player isrequired to play in the outfield. All outfielders must remain ten (10)feet behind the base lines until the ball is hit or reaches the plate.th

4. A maximum of five (5) runs per inning for the first three (3) innings.After that, runs are unlimited.5. No coach pitch; walks are allowed.6. No dropped third strike.7. No infield fly rule.8. Base stealing-One base per pitch even if the ball is overthrown. Nostealing home. On a ball thrown out of bounds on a steal attempt, onlyone base will be awarded and home will remain closed.9. All players bat (round robin batting is required).10. Courtesy runners are allowed for the pitcher and the catcher ofrecord. The last out of record will be eligible to be a courtesyrunner. If two (2) runners are necessary in the same inning (one forthe pitcher and one for the catcher), the next out will be used.An injured offensive player may get a courtesy runner once. If sheneeds to leave the bases a second time a “one-time” out will berecorded, and she cannot return to that game.11. If at any time the batting order drops to 8 players an out will be takenwhen the vacant position in the batting order is scheduled to bat. Aminimum of 8 players is required to start or complete the game.10U Division1.2.3.4.Pitching distance will be 35 feet.An USA/ASA approved 11" ball will be used.No run limit during pool/elimination/championship play.Pool play will require round robin batting for all teams and games.Teams have the option during Elimination play of batting the entireroster (round robin), batting the starting line-up of 9 players, orutilizing the DP/FLEX rule.5. Courtesy runners are allowed for the pitcher and the catcher of recordif you are batting 9 or if batting round robin. If batting 9, USA/ASAcourtesy runner rules apply. If batting round robin, the last out ofrecord is eligible to be a courtesy runner. If two (2) runners arenecessary in the same inning (one for the pitcher and one for thecatcher), the next out will be used.If batting round robin, an injured offensive player may get a courtesyrunner once. If she needs to leave the bases a second time a “one-time”out will be recorded, and she cannot return to that game. If batting 9 orusing DP/Flex, USA/ASA substitution rules apply.6.
