2016/17 Naperville Park District PreschoolOur two preschool programs provide the tools and stimulation to help your child grow andlearn in an environment that focuses on the development of the whole child. NPD PreschoolAcademy and Toadstools & Pollywogs provide continuous opportunities for social, emotional,cognitive and physical development.At the time of registration, a nonrefundable registration fee of 75, first tuition payment and acopy of a birth certificate must be provided.Preschool Programs and RequirementsAll children must have a current medical form on file with the Park District and be toilet trainedwhen classes begin.Two-Year-Olds: Children must be 2 ½ by Sept. 1, 2016This program is designed to make your child’s first preschool experience a calm and comfortableone. The program focuses on separation and building trusting relationships between child andteacher and teacher and parent. Your child is exposed to a variety of activities and experiencesthat encourage social awareness and cognitive development in a gentle, nurturing and playfulenvironment.Three-Year-Olds: Children must be 3 by Sept. 1, 2016This program focuses on creating a warm and nurturing environment where children areencouraged to explore and interact with one another. Children are introduced to key earlychildhood basic skills and concepts through play and hands-on experiences.Three Plus: Children must be 3 by Sept. 1, 2016This program is a three-year-old preschool class designed for children who are ready for anadditional day of preschool.Four-Year-Olds: Children must be 4 by Sept. 1, 2016Our four-year-old program is a continuation of our three-year-old preschool program. Childrenwill continue to work on developing their social skills while building their foundation oflearning. Children will continue to develop their early literacy, math, science and social studyskills through hands-on learning experiences.Pre-Kindergarten: Children must be 4 by Sept. 1, 2016This program is an extension of our four-year-old program designed for children who are readyfor an additional day of preschool.Preschool ToursVisit our preschool classrooms in action! Tours are approximately 30 minutesin length and by appointment only. Please send an email request tosswanson@napervilleparks.org to schedule a tour from October-April.

NPD Preschool AcademyNPD Preschool Academy emphases play with a purpose where teachers create anenvironment that fosters curiosity and facilitates learning. Through this guidedplay, the children develop kindergarten readiness skills. Our program is centeredon hands-on learning experiences with the foundation based on the Illinois EarlyLearning Standards and Objectives. The curriculum includes music, science, art,math, literacy, large and small muscle activities, and learning games. Preschool Registration Process: 2016-2017Registration Requirements: 75 non-refundable registration feeTwo options are available for Preschool Payments. Parents may pay for the program in fullat the time of registration or enroll in an automatic payment plan through use of a credit/debit card or checking account. If enrolling in the automatic payment plan the first tuitionpayment is due at the time of registration.New Student – copy of child’s birth certificate. Please note that you will not be allowed toregister without a copy of your child’s birth certificate.Preschool spots are available on a first come, first served basis.Once your child has been registered for a preschool class, you may not waitlist that childfor another preschool class.Please note that your child must be 30 months, 3, or 4 by September 1. No exceptions willbe made.Registration Locations:You must register in person at a Naperville Park District registration office. Online, phoneregistration or mailed forms will not be accepted. An informational packet will be sent home thebeginning of January.January 25: Resident Registration beginsFebruary 1: Nonresident Registration beginsAugust 26: Preschool Welcome Letter will be mailed.You will receive a welcome letter at the end of August that will include your child’s teachers andorientation time. You will need to complete the following: Physical Form, Child’s InformationCard and Getting to Know Your Child Form and bring them to orientation. The forms wereprovided in your blue folder that you received when you registered. They are also available onour website, napervilleparks.org. Preschool forms will not be accepted before orientation. Allpaperwork must be complete before your child will be allowed to start preschool.September 12 & 13: OrientationOrientation is an opportunity for you and your child to visit your child’s classroom and meethis/her teacher. Preschool Orientation will be on Monday, September 12, 2016 for Monday,Wednesday and Friday, and Monday through Thursday classes. For Tuesday and Thursdayclasses, Orientation will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

Payment Options: Pay the full program fee at the time of registration.Pay the first tuition payment at the time of registration and enroll in the automaticpayment plan where an additional 8 equal tuition payments will be withdrawn from yourchecking account or charged to a credit/debit card. These payments will occur on the1st of each month beginning September 1 through April 1. Credit/Debit cards that aredeclined will be charged a 25.00 service fee by the Naperville Park District and may resultin the forfeiture of this payment option.Program WithdrawEnrolling in preschool is a commitment that your child will attend for the entire preschool year.However, we do understand that situations arise that require a withdrawal from the program.The Naperville Park District must receive requests to withdraw from the 2016-2017 preschoolprogram by July 25, 2016 in order to receive a refund of your first tuition payment. First tuitionpayment refunds will not be issued after this date. The first tuition payment is non-refundablefor Preschool program registrations received after July 25.Program withdrawal requests received after the start of preschool must be received two weeksbefore your child’s last day in order to receive a refund of tuition paid for days that your childwill not attend due to withdrawing from the program. Program withdrawal requests will beaccepted October 1 through March 1. Refunds will not be issued for program withdrawalrequests received after March 1. Please contact the Program Manager if you need to cancel yourchild’s preschool enrollment at (630)848-3571.
