It is 0.5mile west of the Wrightwood METRA Station serviced by the Southwest Service Route of theMETRA Rail System coming from downtown Chicago to Manhattan, Joliet.Bus services are available along 79th Street between 79th and Western and 79th and I-94 where theCTA Red Line train runs north to downtown Chicago and south to 9t5th Street.Page 5 of 29

A largelaboratory includes supplies and equipment for practicing clinical skills to complete requirementsin the Phlebotomy Technician class. It will also include other equipment for future trainingprograms MEDWAY plan to offer.The campus also includes a resource and computer center where a small library will containcurrent reference books in health care, including medical and clinical laboratory sciences. Includes instruction in basicanatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; patient psychology andcommunications; medical office procedures; and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, andtreatment procedures. The training to become a certified nursingassistant (CNA) is relatively short and allows students an opportunity to start their careers in amatter of weeks.The ideal CNA candidate is compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine interest in helpingothers. In many cases, the CNA provides the day-to-day, hands-on, patient care – assisting withroutine daily activities such as walking, eating, bathing, and using the restroom. The course will prepare the student to sit for thecertification examination from NHA – Certified EKG Technician (CET).ObjectivesThis training program will focus on preparing the students in being competent to Conduct electrocardiogram (EKG), phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing, orother cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity, using specialized electronictest equipment, recording devices, or laboratory instruments. Proof of good medical and physical health examination Signed IDPH Authorization for Healthcare Worker Background Check. Results of check must notinclude any disqualifying convictions. If student does not have an existing Healthcare WorkerBackground Check profile, an application must be started by the individual.Graduation EligibilityAttendance PolicyStudents enrolled in the training program are expected to complete the 80 contact hours requiredfor the course. However, unavoidable absences may be excused upon the discretion of the programcoordinator. In addition, MEDWAY will only allow a maximum total excused absence of 8 hours or2 school days.
