RULES AND REGULATIONSUS Equestrian (Federation) Membership Agreement"Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.In all classes wherein the rules of the USEF do not apply, the horse show management shall settle any dispute or question and the decision shall be Final. Exhibitors and other participants herein, as a condition of admission, shall consent to such methods of settlement. GR 901.9 states that:Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Modified Level orabove and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitionsand Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a 45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1)leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classesare classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation,10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classesUS Equestrian (Federation) Entry AgreementBy entering a Federation licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylawsand Rules of the US Equestrian /United States Equestrian Federation (“the Federation”) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound bythe Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as Final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arisingunder the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action takenunder the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I alsoagree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cablecasts, broadcasts, internet, Film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition forthe promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and theymay not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. By participating in the show in any way, to include spectator, exhibitor, rider, trainer, agent, or employee or agent of any of the above agree to hold Mid States Horse Shows, LLC, and their officials, the beneficiary, the USEF andtheir officials, directors, employees and agents harmless for any injury or loss suffered during or in connection with the show whether or not such injury or lossresulted directly or indirectly from the negligent acts or omissions of said officials, directors, employees or agents of the show, the beneficiary, or the USEF. Itshall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show blameless for any loss or accident to his horse(s), employee(s) or equipment whichmay occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. DOG OWNERSUSEF GR1301.6. NIEC, and therefore MSHS also, respectfully request that youclean up after your pets.In the event of an acute and serious injury to or illness of a horse on competition grounds when the owner or trainer of the horse or agent of the owner is notpresent, after reasonable effort to contact that individual has been made, competition management, in consultation with a licensed equine veterinarian, mayauthorize the provision of emergency veterinary treatment of the horse. If competition management so authorizes treatment under the provisions of this rule,competition management and veterinarian are not liable for any resulting costs, damages, losses, claims or actions arising directly or indirectly from the treatment of the horse.RING/EXHIBITOR CONDUCTIf the courtesy circle is restricted, it shall be announced, and also be indicated on the course diagram. A corresponding barrier will be erected in the arena. Ifsaid restrictions are not observed, the rider shall be disqualified. Jumping orders may be posted at the in-gate. Jumping orders may be pre-posted and rolled,and would be computer generated. Post entries will be added to the top of the jump order. Please advise the paddock master of any conflicts.5

Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in whichthey reside, will NOT be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters orfarm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the abovedescribed vehicles, as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual whosigns the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for anydamages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s) orguardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and Charges being Filed against any of theseindividuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance equipment for people with disabilities are exempt fromthis rule.USEF Rule GR1301.8. The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management intheir sole discretion, that do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to segways, hover boards, and single wheeledscooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if there is arisk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent orguardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties. MEMBERSHIP, MEASUREMENT & AMATEUR CARDSAll participants (riders, drivers, handlers, owners, trainers, coaches, agents or lessees) must present to the competition secretary a current USEF/USHJA membershipcard or copy thereof, or he/she will be assessed a 45/USEF & 30/USHJA (or 75 if both USEF and USHJA) non refundable, show pass fee (non member fee). All Juniorand Pony Hunters must possess and present to the horse show office, a current USEF measurement card. All Amateur Owners and Adult Amateurs must present theirAmateur cards at the time of number pick up. To speed processing, please enclose photocopies of these cards with entries.MEASUREMENT: Measurement will Wednesday at 8:00AM on Thursday, at 12:00PM, in the INDOOR ARENA.HORSE REGISTRATION NUMBERSSee USEF Rules GR 1101,1102. All horses competing in Federation non-breed restricted licensed competitions with hunter, hunter breeding, jumper and hunter seatequitation classes must be properly identified and must obtain a Registration Number from the USHJA. Applications for Registration Numbers can be completed onlineat www.ushja.org or www.usef.org using the Horse Registration application form. HORSES MUST STILL BE RECORDED WITH THE USEF (EITHER LIFETIME OR ANNUAL) TO RECEIVE NATIONAL OR ZONE POINTS.MICRO CHIPPING: Beginning in the 2019 competition year, all horses competing in USEF-licensed and/or USHJA-sanctioned competitions with Hunter, Hunter Breeding, Jumper, and Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation classes not restricted by breed will be required to be microchipped. USEF has provided education materials to competitors to learn more about microchipping and the rules (HU101, JP100, EQ103).At competitions, exhibitors may ask to turn in a USEF Microchip Reporting Form. Please let them know they can report the microchip number directly to USEF threeways:1. Online by signing into their My USEF My Way account and updating the horse’s record.2. Faxing to (859) 231-6662 or emailing to horseservices@usef.org the Microchip Reporting Form, which may be used to report chip numbers for multiple horses.3. Completing the microchip field on a USEF Horse Recording/ ID Application.The completion and submission of this form is the sole responsibility of the competitor. Competitions are not responsible for assisting with the forms. Our office willcheck the form to ensure accuracy and completeness once receivedSCHOOLINGSCHEDULE: Management will create and announce a schooling schedule for each day based upon weather and footing conditions. Whenever mounted, allriders MUST wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. ALL HORSES & ALL NONSTAFF PEOPLE MUST LEAVE ANY AREA upon entrance of tractor for ring preparation, and no additional schooling in rings after tractor work preparation for show,nor longeing anywhere other than designated areas, after tractor work.Schooling Hours: On day prior to show: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM. On shows days rings MAY possibly be open for schooling over jumps for 1 hour at the conclusion of theday’s classes and/or course build in that ring. Regardless of schooling status, All Arenas will close (if open) 45 minutes prior to show time in the mornings.Final Show Day: THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOLING IN ANY ARENAS.Some arenas may possibly be open for schooling during other designated hours (at management discretion).Schooling in Rings will be limited or closed at any time, at management discretion. especially due to weather conditions.STABLINGPlease add stabling information to the entry form and submit a Stabling Reservation Form.Stalls are permanent & temporary inside permanent barns. All stalls have doors. First bedding is not included in the stabling fee. No refunds unless stalls are canceledby closing date of each horse show. ATTIRE AND EQUIPMENTIt is compulsory for all persons at Federation licensed hunter, jumper or hunter/jumper competitions when mounted anywhere on the competition grounds, to wearproperly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards forequestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. Exception: In Hunter or Jumper classes, adults may be allowed to remove theirheadgear while accepting prizes and during the playing of the National Anthem only; they must refasten their headgear prior to the lap of honor. It is compulsory forriders in Paso Fino classes, both open and breed restricted including Hunter Hack, where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the competitiongrounds to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute)standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. A Show Committee must bar riders without protective headgearfrom entering the ring for classes in which protective headgear is required and may bar any entry or person from entering the ring if not suitably presented to appear before an audience. Amount of prize money awarded in the class is stated right after the class number in specifications of the section. Seeschedule below. Premium checks may be picked up at the secretary’s office when you are ready to leave and when your bill has been paid in full. However, management reserves the right to mail checks after the conclusion of the horse show. Premiums can be subtracted from payment due.NOMINATIONSAll horses showing in 1.15m and above Jumper Classes, will be charged a nominating fee of: 135.00, ( 150) If Paid After Closing Date). Once a horse is nominated, itbecomes entitled to compete in any jumper class for which it is eligible, upon payment of the showing fee for said class.
