Product descriptionWeberset classic is a high polymer modifiedthinset tile and stone adhesive, speciallyformulated for fixing low porosity vitrified tiles onthe floor in internal areas. The adhesive can alsobe used for fixing ceramic tiles on wall and floorand is suitable for dry as well as wet areas forinternal application. This is also suitable fortile-on-tile application for fixing vitrified tiles onpre-existing ceramic tile floors. Please refertile/substrate sheet for more details. Do not use for large format tiles. Do not use in external areas, or areas exposed todirect sunlight. Do not use for fixing vitrified tiles on walls. Do not use for fixing stones. Do not use on the wet screed. The surface mustbe fully cured. High Bond strength. Do not use for installing glass mosaic, glass tiles,or metal tiles. Use only weberset glass mosaicfor fixing glass mosaics, and only weber epoxyadhesive for fixing glass and metal tiles. The free-flowing product makes it easier to mixand apply - easy to use. Do not use for wooden flooring, for insulating andsoundproofing panels. Useful for bed thickness of 3-12 mm. May go upto15mm in a limited extent. Self-curing properties, which allowsno-hassle application, with minimum labor.for No hacking of the substrate required to achievethe required bonding.Area of applicationRefer Tile/Substrate sheet for detailsCompliance / Standards Refer to the respective datasheets for details.Method of application For installation of vitrified tiles on the floor.weberset classicLimitationsSpecially formulated as per the requirementsC (Cementitious) 1 (standard) T (Slip resistant) andE(Extended open time) of ISO 13007 and EN 12004.Also complies to IS 15477:2019 (Type 2) andANSI A118.1.Preparing the substrate Clean the substrate of oil stains and bondinhibiting compounds, dirt, dust, and laitance, ifany, use high-pressure water jet or any othersuitable method for cleaning. Ensure that the substrate is flat, stable, welladhered, and has a normal absorption. The substrate should be cured sufficiently toavoid the shrinkage cracks. Correct the local undulation/damage on thesubstrate at least 48 hours before theapplication of weberset classic. Saturate the surface thoroughly and removeexcess water before the application of webersetclassic.NOTE :- In case of higher undulation, a neat coat ofwebertec SBR LitX to be applied on the substrate,followed by application of latex modified plaster, tosmoothen the surface. (For further details kindly

refer to the technical datasheet of webertec SBRLitX )- In case of oil stains, use of surfactants may benecessary, followed by proper cleaning with water,to avoid debonding of tiles.- Leave expansion joints of at least 10mm thickness,every 20 feet in the substrate. Do not coverexpansion joints with adhesive, and can be filledwith an appropriate flexible sealant.Preparing the mix Gradually add 3 parts of weberset classic to 1part of clean water (by volume) and mix it to alump-free, smooth, workable paste using asuitable stirrer/low-speed drill mix/or any otherappropriate tool. After mixing, allow the mixture to stand for 2minutes for it to mature.NOTE :- Do not attempt to extend the pot life by addingmore water to the mix.- Do not add any additional substance, like cement,sand, etc. to the mix. These may adversely affectthe performance of the product.weberset classicApplying the mix Apply the adhesive onto the substrate coveringup to 1/2 m2 at a time (or no more than can betiled within 10 minutes). Unfavorable weatherconditions (strong sun, dry wind, hightemperatures, etc.) or a highly absorbentsubstrate can reduce the open time, even to justa few minutes. It is, therefore, necessary thatcareful checks be made to ensure that a skindoes not form on the surface of the spreadadhesive. If not, re-freshen the adhesive byre-spreading with a notched trowel. It is not recommended to wet the adhesive withwater once a skin has formed because, insteadof dissolving the skin, the water will form ananti-adhesive film. Apply weberset classic over the surface usingthe straight edge of the notched trowel andthen comb the applied adhesive using thenotched side of the trowel to achieve thedesired thickness. If the adhesive is buttered to the tile, thenensure proper coverage of the tile surface toevade voids. Ensure adequate gap is kept betweensubsequent tiles to accommodate for thermalexpansion and contraction.NOTE: The size of the notch trowel and the angleof application will determine the bed thickness asper the following formula:Bed Thickness NW NH sin θ(NG NW)Where:NW is the width of the NotchNG is the Gap in between the notches,NH is the Height of the notch, andθ is the angle of applicationTiles Installation Cleanthestone/tilewithwaterbeforeinstallation. Bed the tiles firmly into the adhesive with a slightsliding and/or twisting action/shear, to ensure agood and uniform contact. It is good practice to lift an occasional tile afterfixing, to verify that the required contact isachieved. In wet areas, external areas and all floors, thefinal adhesive bed should be free from voids. If necessary, tiles should be adjusted, within 15minutes of installation. Carefully clean off any excess adhesive fromthe tiles and joints with a damp sponge or clothbefore it sets. Leave for atleast 24 hours beforegrouting.
