Fort Bend Independent School DistrictProgram InformationImportantInformationOriginal Credit High School Courses (Fee Based Tuition)Students who took Algebra I as 8th graders and failed oneor both semesters have several options for meeting themath standard required for moving to high school.Incoming ninth graders for the 2021-2022 school year mayregister for Original Credit Courses: Art I, Health, Foundationsof Personal Fitness, or Personal Financial Literacy during thesummer of 2021. Successful completion of each semester(session) earns 0.5 credit towards high school graduation.Registration forms and information are available from yourmiddle school counselor.Tuition for original credit courses for FBISD students towardshigh school graduation is 125 per course (0.5 credit) and 65/ 50 per course (0.5 credit) for students who are currentlyserved by the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.If a student failed both semesters of Algebra Iand the Algebra I EOC, the student should take8th grade math in summer school and thenrepeat Algebra I as a 9th grader to improve theirfoundation skills.If a student failed only one semester of AlgebraI and failed the EOC, it may be in the bestinterest of the student to repeat the entirecourse next year in 9th grade and take 8th grademath in summer school.If a student failed only one semester of Algebra Iand passed the EOC, the student may take thefailed semester during summer school.If a student passed Algebra I and failed theAlgebra I EOC, the student may retest in June.If you have specific questions, please contactyour child’s counselor to review the options.

Fort Bend Independent School DistrictRegistration Process Remedial Credit Registration (by counselor) Original Credit Registration (online) Dates: May 10, 2021 – June 9, 2021Special Note: All online registration without paymentis subject to being dropped without notice. Parents andstudents are encouraged to pay soon after the time thecounselor has enrolled them in the summer schoolcourse in order to avoid being dropped from thecourse. Online course selections will not be heldwithout payment. If students are dropped from thecourse they previously selected, the course will needto be selected again by the counselor in FamilyAccess before payment is accepted online.Students must complete registration form and returnform to the campus counseling office beforeselecting and paying online.Students/Parents will need to pay online with acredit/debit card through Fort Bend ISD’s FamilyAccess after the counselor has enrolled the student inthe appropriate courses – go to www.fortbendisd.com(Family Access is an icon at the top right side of thehome page.). Parents/students needing assistancewith registration or paying by cash should visit theircampus counselor.Parents may contact the FBISD Customer SupportCenter at 281-634-1300 for Family Access assistance.REGISTRATION FOR ALL COURSES IS ONA FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS AND WILLDEPEND ON THE AVAILABILITY OF QUALIFIEDTEACHERS.*Space is limited, and some courses willclose before the registration end date(June 9, 2021).Payment InformationOnline registration and payments are highly encouragedwith use of credit/debit card. Fort Bend Independent School DistrictImportant Information Class Assignments - Classes are assigned by thesummer school administrative team based onenrollment, need, and the availability of certifiedteachers. Courses that are cancelled due toinsufficient enrollment or lack of certified teacherswill result in a full refund or the opportunity for thestudent to select another available course.Attendance Procedures- Efficient use of class time isessential to the student’s success. Refunds will notbe given to students who are withdrawn for lack ofengagement or progress in coursework. Dress Code - All students attending summer schoolin FBISD are required to follow the FBISD dress codeand grooming policies. Students receiving a second(2nd) warning will be withdrawn from summer schoolwithout receiving a grade for the session regardlessof the date within the session on which the incidentoccurs. Refunds will not be given to students who arewithdrawn for dress and grooming violations.Discipline Guidelines - All students will follow theFBISD Student Code of Conduct. Students refusing toadhere to the code of conduct who receive a second(2nd) discipline referral will be withdrawn from summerschool without receiving a grade for the sessionregardless of the date within the session.This action will be taken without receipt of agrade/credit for the session regardless of the datewithin the session on which the incident occurs.Refunds will not be given to students who arewithdrawn for discipline reasons.Refund Procedures -Students who arewithdrawn from summer school for disciplinaryreasons, or who are withdrawn because of lackof engagement and course progress, will notreceive any refund for fees paid on behalf of thestudent. Refunds will not be given once classesbegin on the first day of each summer schoolsession.All allow able requests for refunds must be madein writing to the summer school principal andapproved by the principal.A 25 processing fee will be deducted from eachapproved refund. Refunds will be given due to thecancellation of classes and will not be subject to aprocessing fee.
