There are no user serviceableparts.WARNING!Risk of Injury or DamageUse of this product outside of the intended use andspecifications has not been tested and may lead toproduct damage, loss of product function, or injury.– DO NOT use this product in any way other thandescribed in the specifications and intended usesections of this manual.1194969-A-00DANGER!Risk of Death, Injury Or Damage From FireTextiles, oil or petroleum substances, grease, greasysubstances and other combustibles are easily ignitedand burn with great intensity in oxygen enriched air andwhen in contact with oxygen under pressure. Smokingduring oxygen therapy is dangerous and is likely to resultin burns or death. To avoid fire, death, injury or damage:– DO NOT SMOKE while using this device. DO NOTuse near OPEN FLAME or IGNITION SOURCES.– NO SMOKING signs should be prominently displayed.– Avoid creation of any spark near oxygen equipment.This includes sparks from static electricity created byany type of friction.– Use only oxygen compatible water-based lotionsor salves before and during oxygen therapy. Toverify, refer to the lotion/salve container for oxygencompatible water-based statement. If necessary,contact the manufacturer. DO NOT use anylubricants on concentrator unless recommended byInvacare.– Keep the oxygen tubing, cord, AC adapter, andconcentrator out from under such items as blankets,bed coverings, chair cushions, clothing, and away fromheated or hot surfaces including space heaters, stoves,and similar electrical appliances.– Make sure concentrator is off when not in use.5

General1.Open the battery compartment door. With battery fuel gaugelabel facing toward the front of the oxygen concentrator, slowlylower battery A straight down into one of the two slots in thebattery compartment.Refer to Installing the Battery(s) in Setup.2.Connect the AC Power Adapter to the external power inputconnector B. Plug the AC cord into the electrical outlet.Refer to External AC Power in Setup.Using the concentrator for the first time requiresthe battery(s) to be charged. Refer to Charging theBattery(s) in Setup.3.Connect the nasal cannula to the concentrator oxygen outletport on your concentrator C. Oxygen will only be deliveredwhile you are breathing through the nasal cannula connectedto this device.Refer to Connecting/Positioning the Nasal Cannula in Setup.1194969-A-007

Invacare Platinum Mobile4.Turn on the concentrator by pressing the On/Off Button D untilthe control panel indicators light up.Refer to Turning on the Concentrator in Usage.5.Adjust the pulse flow setting to the one prescribed by yourclinical professional. The pulse flow setting can be changed bypressing the flow selection button E. Place the nasal cannulaover your ears and position the prongs in your nose as instructedby your health care provider.Refer to Adjusting the Pulse Flow Setting in Usage.81194969-A-00

General1.3Indications For UseThe Invacare Platinum Mobile Oxygen Concentrator is intendedto provide supplemental oxygen to patients with respiratorydisorders. The device can be used in a home, institution, vehicle, orother environments outside the home.1.4Intended UseThe Invacare Platinum Mobile Oxygen Concentrator is intendedto provide supplemental oxygen to patients with respiratorydisorders. The Invacare Platinum Mobile Oxygen Concentratorcan be used in a home, institution, vehicle, or other environmentsoutside the home. The blue indicator light next tothe button illuminates when activated. Audio off can beactivated during or prior to an alarm condition occurring.Display ScreenEDisplays information about the operating status of theconcentrator.Alarm IndicatorFThe yellow indicator light at the center of the triangularsymbol illuminates to indicate abnormal operatingconditions. Refer to Alarm Conditions in Troubleshootingfor more details.Battery GaugeAOn/Off ButtonGPress for one second to turn concentrator on or off.Flow Selection ButtonBCPress to adjust the pulsed oxygen flow to your prescribedsetting. The selected flow setting is shown on the displayscreen. General1.6.2Input/Output ConnectionsTo clean the air intake filter, refer to Cleaning the Air Intake FilterScreen in Maintenance.To ensure the concentrator is properly installed in the carry bag,refer to Installing the Carry Bag in Setup.1.6.4Power OptionsWARNING!Risk of Injury or DamageTo avoid injury or damage which will void warranty:– Use only Invacare specified power supplies.AOxygen Outlet PortUsed to connect the nasal cannula to the concentrator.BExternal Power Input ConnectorUsed to connect an external power source to theconcentrator.CUSB PortUsed for service only.1.6.3FiltersAir enters the concentrator through an air intake filter located on thecarry bag. This filter prevents hair and other large particles in the airfrom entering the unit. Before you operate the concentrator, makesure this filter is clean and dry, and the concentrator is properlyinstalled in the carry bag.1194969-A-00Battery(s): Up to two rechargeable batteries can be installed in thebattery compartment of the concentrator. When fully charged, asingle battery supplies power for up to five hours (up to ten hoursfor two batteries). Visible and audible alarm signals occur whenthe battery power is getting low. Refer to Alarm Conditions inTroubleshooting and Charging the Battery(s) in Setup.AC Power Adapter: An AC power adapter allows theconcentrator to be connected to a 100–240 volt 50–60 hertz outlet.Use of the AC power adapter will allow the concentrator to operateand simultaneously recharge the installed battery. Refer to Chargingthe Battery(s) in Setup.DC Power Cable: A DC power cable allows the concentrator tobe connected to an automobile’s (boat, motor home, etc.) 12-voltDC outlet. Use of the DC power cable will allow the concentratorto operate and simultaneously recharge an installed battery(s). Referto Charging the Battery(s) in Setup.13

To prevent injury fromoxygen deprivation:– Carry supplemental batteries with you.– Stow the concentrator properly during travel. Forproper storage instructions when travelling refer tothe travel guide.WARNING!Risk of Injury or DamageTo prevent injury or damage from misuse:– NEVER leave concentrator unattended whenconnected to power.– Make sure concentrator is off when not in use.– Outdoor use MUST be conducted with internalbattery power only.WARNING!Risk Of Injury Or Damage– Invacare products are specifically designed andmanufactured for use in conjunction with Invacareprovided or Invacare specified accessories.
