Its founding can be traced back to 1852, when H.B. and J. C. Bryant and their brother-in-law, H.D. Stratton, organized Bryant& Stratton Mercantile College in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1854, J.C. Bryant, anoted physician and businessman, established Bryant & Stratton College inBuffalo, New York. Throughout the next century, the College developedcareer-based degrees and training programs to meet the needs of youngand working adults seeking jobs and career advancement in business andindustry due to both employer and student demands. From the 1960sthrough the current period, the College expanded its program offerings tohealthcare, technology, justice, financial and service sectors. In 2000, theCollege offered distance learning through an Online Education division.Today the institution has many locations; however it is one college withseveral branches and additional locations, referred to as campuses. TheCollege confers over thirty associate and baccalaureate degrees, andoffers diploma and certificate programs for select occupations. In June of2002, the College earned regional accreditation status from the MiddleStates Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), now known as MiddleStates Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Attain college level placement scores on both the English and Mathematics placement evaluations.5. Achieve a minimum of proficiency level on the Test of Essential AcademicSkills (TEAS). Bryant & Stratton College LPN graduates who havepassed the NCLEX and have a valid PN license are exempt from takingthe TEAS for entrance into the ADN program within the first two years ofgraduation.6.
