Leary DavisEight years ago we were preparing to admit the charter class to a new law school.Today, thanks to a talented, dedicated, innovative faculty (profiled on pages 38-41) andconsistently outstanding student bodies, Campbell has established an educationalprogram that has been recognized as more theoretical, more practical, and moreuniformly demanding throughout its three years than the programs of other schools.It is, then, my pleasure to present the Classes of 1985 and 1986 to you in thisPlacement Bulletin. They and their employers will be the beneficiaries of the effortthey have expended here, and of a structured program which provides them with broadand sound foundations upon which to construct legal careers as analysts, advocates,counselors, planners, and implementers. That program is outlined on page 42. Weinvite your comments and constructive criticism.This is our first placement bulletin to be published during the summer. We haveexpedited the publication process to accommodate earlier interviewing schedules oflaw firms. Consequently, not all information concerning our students' summer employ ment, academic awards, and co-curricular activities will be included in this Bulletin.Complete biographical data for all our students should be available from our placementoffice, and a first-year supplement to the Bulletin will be published in the fall.Our latest survey indicates 95% of our students participate in summer clerkshipsprior to graduation.
