Student AchievementIn April 2018, theASCE studentchapter sent 21 CEEstudents to OhioUniversity toparticipate in theOhio Valley StudentConference. UD’ssteel bridge teamplaced 5th of 13teams.ASCE first yearmembersparticipated in thebalsa wood bridgecompletion at OVSCwith guidance fromseniors CheyneyMyers and AlexisWingfield.University of Dayton School ofEngineeringASCE memberAllison Wong placed2nd place in thetechnical papercompetition atOVSC. Allison wroteabout Social Mediaand ASCE Code ofEthics.ASCE memberscompeted in thesurveying challengeat OVSC led by seniorAlex Wolf.11

Student AchievementIn April 2018, ASCEmembers plantedover 200 trees at theGreat MiamiMitigation Metroparkwith the ASCE DaytonChapter.In September 2018,the ASCE Annual GolfOuting took placewith 44 professionaland studentparticipants. Studentsraised funds to coverthe cost of OVSC in2019.University of Dayton School ofEngineeringIn August 2018, ASCEofficers recruited newmembers at Up theOrgs. The ASCEStudent Chapter grewfrom 20 activemembers in 2017 toover 70 by the end of2018.In October 2018,ASCE memberscompleted the Adopta-Highway annualclean up on the UDASCE owned milestretch of road.12
