ARTICULATION AGREEMENTBetweenChamberlain College of Nursing andSuffolk County Community CollegeFor Transfer of Suffolk County Community College's Associate of Applied Science Degree in NursingStatement of PurposeThe purpose of this articulation is to provide a basis for a cooperative relationship between CCNand SCCC to benefit students who desire to complete a bachelor's degree. The intent is for SCCCstudents completing the AS degree plan to move seamlessly to the BSN degree plan.Transfer AgreementAssociate Degree and Diploma program graduates are awarded 82 credit hours in accordance with theChamberlain College Articulation Plan (CCAP). The credit hours awarded reflect credit hours forcourses, general education and nursing, currently in the CCN BSN program representing essentialcontent for a basic nursing program. State boards of nursing require both general education andnursing concepts in a basic curriculum leading to eligibility for RN licensure. This content may be inspecifically identified courses or threaded throughout the curriculum in other required coursework.Therefore, while CCAP credit hours awarded may appear to exceed the number of credit hours in agiven associate or diploma program, they are representative of the content required by boards ofnursing for a basic nursing program and are consistent with credit hours required for the CON BSNprogram.This articulation is made explicitly subject to the terms ofCCN admission requirements, academicpolicies, program requirements, and course descriptions, including but not limited to the CCNacademic catalog, student handbook and academic policy regarding transfer of external credit (all ofthe foregoing collectively referred to herein as the "Chamberlain Policies"). In the event of anyconflict between or among Chamberlain Policies or elsewhere in this articulation, the terms of theChamberlain Policies shall prevail.Addendum One: SCCC Curriculum Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Course RequirementsAddendum Two: SCCC to CCN course articulation guideAdmission InformationSCCC students are eligible for admission to CCN provided they meet the following requirements:a. Submit a complete application for admission to CCN, andb. Is a registered nurse with a current, active RN license in the U.S. or in a jurisdiction thatis an associate member of the National Council of State Boards ofNursing (NCSBN),andc. Has a minimum cumulative grade point average of2.0 on a 4.0 scale.*Please refer to http://www .cham -degree-completion-for the most updated RN-BSN optionAdmissions information.As SCCC graduates complete the 47 credit hour requirement for the award of the BSN degree innursing, they must meet the graduation requirements as approved by CCN at the time of thestudent's admission to the Bachelors of Science program

Term, Renewal and ChangesThis Agreement has an initial term of one (1) year. Thereafter, this Agreement will automaticallyrenew on a year to year basis for up to four (4) additional one year terms, unless either party givesthe other party a minimum of thirty (30) days prior written notice of non-renewal. Notwithstandingthe foregoing, either party may terminate this Agreement for a material breach by the other partupon giving the other party fifteen (15) days prior written notice specifically identifying the allegedbreach, provided that the breaching party does not cure the breach within the fifteen (15) day cureperiod.The CCN and SCCC Presidents, or their designees, must approve amendments to thisAgreement and no such amendments or alterations will be effective unless in writing and signedby the authorized representative of each party.Reduced Tuition PricingSCCC employees and graduates who enroll in and attend a CCN online post-licensure nursingprogram will receive a special tuition rate charged at 90% of the prevailing tuition rate for theapplicable program. The special tuition rate is effective on the date of this Agreement as set forthabove and will remain in effect during the term of this Agreement, except that the special tuition ratewill not apply until the first term after the execution of this Agreement. Tuition and expenses arecalculated each session and subject to change. A prepared fmancial statement is available each monthand outlines the charges and balance due. Please refer to chamberlain.edu/tuition for the mostupdated information on tuition and expenses. Non-tuition expenses such as books, student activityfees, lab fees, and miscellaneous supplies that may be charged to students by CCN are not eligible forthe special tuition rate. Institution's employees and students are subject to all other requirements,rules, policies and procedures as set forth in the CCN catalogs and addenda, as amended from time totime. This Agreement applies to all oflnstitution's employees who are CCN students, whether new orcontinuing. Institution's student enrollment numbers shall be reviewed following each semester, orthree times per year.In no event will SCCC employees and graduates who are CCN students receive a credit,repayment, reparation or refund of any money previously paid or due for any class taken beforeor pending on the Effective Date of this Agreement.Disclaimer, LimitationCCN hereby disclaims all warranties, including without limitation, any implied warranty ofmerchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, CCNaggregate maximum liability arising from or in any way related to this articulation (whether incontract, tort, strict liability or otherwise) shall not exceed One Thousand Dollars ( 1,000). In noevent will CCN be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages ofany kind.Limited License, Promotion and IndemnificationSCCC will provide opportunities for representatives of CCN to visit SCCC locations anddisseminate information about CCN programs and this Agreement. The marketing plans may includebut are not limited to: Introductory letter with brochure and microsite to current students announcing Education Agreementand nursing programsBrochures, inquiry cards, and posters with tear offs to be distributed and posted around SCCC for thepurpose of informing potential students of CCN programs

Annual meetings with chief contact to track progress on the partnership.Press releases announcing partnershipsListing partnership on websitesUpon termination of this Agreement, the limited licenses set forth in this section will immediatelyterminate and each party shall (i) cease all such aforementioned use; and (ii) discard, destroy ordelete any printed and electronic materials containing the name, trade name, trademark, or logo ofthe other party. Neither party shall use the name, trade name, logo, or trademark of the other party inany way that would cause confusion in the public mind as to the relationship between the partiesand, except for the limited license set forth in this section, neither party shall by virtue of thisAgreement gain any right, title, or interest in any name, trade name, trademark, or logo of the otherparty. Each part shall indemnify and hold harmless the other party from any and all damages andliability arising in any way related to its respective breach of the restrictions set forth in herein;provided that the indemnified party gives the indemnifying party prompt written notice of anyindemnified claim and tenders defense of such claim to the indemnifying party. The indemnifiedparty shall not settle any indemnified claim without the prior a written consent of the indemnifyingparty. This section shall survive termination of this Agreement for any reason.MiscellaneousThis Agreement sets forth the entire and complete statement of intent between the parties as to thesubject matter hereof This Agreement shall not be altered, amended or construed by any prior orcontemporaneous oral or written agreement or undertaking between the parties. This Agreementwill be governed by the laws of the state of Illinois without regard for its conflicts oflawsprinciples. The relationship of the parties is and shall remain that of independent contractors and theparties shall not be or be deemed partners or joint ventures. Neither party shall have any authorityto contract for or bind the other.
