In thesecond year, students will estimate repaircosts on vehicles, perform the repairs foractual customers, and are expected to meetor surpass industry standards.This program integrates environmentsustainability and current health issues intothe curriculum through lessons on specificregulations for the control of hazardous airpollutants. Somestudents choose to supplement their flighttraining with private lessons enabling themto complete their first solo flight and possiblyearn their Private Pilot License while still inhigh school.This course is also ideal for those studentsconsidering the pursuit of non-flying aviationcareers as well. Electricians-intraining will learn the math and scienceneeded to understand electricity in apractical, hands-on context where theoryis always related to real life. Students willpractice installations using Romex andarmored cable methods, and bend rigidand thin wall conduits. They will also gainexperience working with specifications andelectric codes, as well as reading buildingplans and technical sketches.
