How to Get the Most Out of the Exhibit HallThe Exhibit Hall is one of the most popular features of the NASP convention each year. Exhibitorswelcome the opportunity to promote their products, services, and organizations. Visitors are eagerto see new products, find helpful intervention materials, and make connections for options that canhelp students. To maximize your experience, please keep the following ideas in mind:1.2.3.4.5.6.Note the hours that the Exhibit Hall is openfor business. Try to schedule times to visitinstead of dropping in. The hall has morethan 100 booths, so you can spend a greatdeal of time there at once or visit severaltimes over three days. The hall closespermanently at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, so don’tdelay your visit until the last minute. Please do not venture into the hall tobrowse before the opening, and leavepromptly at the closing, unless you are inthe midst of placing an order. The hall is busiest at the opening timeseach day, particularly on Wednesday, when certain exhibitors have specialgiveaways. The smallest crowds tend to bein the hall on Friday.Review the floor plan and exhibitordescriptions to find your favorites or thosethat are of particular interest to save timeif you need to visit in short time frames.Identify “must see” and “want to see”exhibitors and those from whom you canjust pick up information if there is notenough time to visit individual booths.Visit as many booths as you can. Exhibitorsare there to assist you, not push theirproducts. Let them know you appreciatetheir attendance—their financial support isabsolutely essential to the success of theNASP convention each year.7.Please be cognizant of the fact that somematerials in the booths may be free andothers are for sale at special conventionprices. Unfortunately, theft does take placein the Exhibit Hall and is generally theresult of confusion about what is free andwhat is not. Don’t be afraid to ask if youare not sure.8. Scan your name badge to provide yourcontact information at the booths of allvendors exhibiting products or servicesin which you are interested. This willenable vendors to follow up with you afterthe convention to keep you informed ofvaluable information about their productsand services. Please be aware that allinformation captured on the registrationform, except your home and cell phonenumbers, will be included in the codeon your name badge. Do not swipe yourbadge in the booths of any vendors thatyou do not wish to receive your contactinformation.9. Request that bulky literature or samplesbe mailed to you instead of having to carrythem home with you.10. Don’t forget the “Take One Tables” locatedin the Exhibit Hall.11. Take advantage of the food and beverageoptions served at the Coffee Cartand NASP Food Court (see additionalinformation and hours on page 19).Exhibit Hall Location and HoursConvention Center/100 LevelWednesday, February 19 . 12:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m.Thursday, February 20 . 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.Friday, February 21. 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.Have a wonderful time in the Exhibit Hall.
