Each ofthese sessions will last the entire day and take a deep dive into a topic ofinterest in teaching and learning. In each breakout session there will be akeynote address by a national expert, distribution of a professional book onthe topic, and lunch at the session location. On the second day of FacultyInstitute, groups will share their takeaways with other groups. Theafternoon session opens with a live dramatization addressing conflict betweendifferent races and beliefs. Students need to know how to build and leverage socialcapital. Students need to be able to demonstrate how diversity strengthens ourdemocracy. When faculty integrate Interfaith into their courses, students willunderstand how to construct their personal stories into inspiring personal narrativesthat address social issues. Interfaith skills and strategies equip students and others tothrive in the global economy. Interfaith cooperation is a required behavior andmindset for success for our students to lead in their respective disciplines. Attendeeswill learn more about Interfaith and workshop their syllabi to include Interfaithconcepts which educate students on how to collaborate with diverse peers for socialawareness and action in their immediate community and across the globe. Attendeeswill also experience a live dramatization featuring a faculty member, a pastor, andstudents who find themselves involved in conflict with people of diverse races andbeliefs.
