LucasHercules H Valdez, PM510-912-0208Brethren, Salutations from the WestAs we are moving forwardthru the masonic year, the underlyingtone in our Lodge has become positive, because we have opened ourhearts and arms to embrace ourbrethren at every Stated Meetingand degree has removed tensionsand increased our attendance. As weare making new mason who swore tobecome better men, let us show andguide them and be good examples.Upon entering the Lodgeroom, we are inspired by the volumeof Sacred Law adorned with thesquare and compass which is the ruleand guide of our actions. By its radiance we embrace our Brothers andfeel that warmth of friendship andBrotherly love flow through our bodies which is easily seen by the smilesand radiant faces of the Brethren. We are also reminded thatthese instruments, the SQUARE andthe COMPASS, are ancient to our fraternity and are significant for theyrepresent the working tools of ourprofession. The SQUARE is dedicated toThe COMPASS, is a foundation to the craft, for by a due attention to its use, we are taught to circumscribe our desires and keep ourpassions within due bounds towardall mankind. To achieve the goal ofharmony, every true mason will setpride and arrogance aside, for it willdestroy the fluidity of the lodge. Byuse of this moral foundation we extend and whisper good council tobrothers who has forgotten the truemeaning of our brotherhood.By practicing HUMILITY andRESPECT and showing good moraland social standards in FRIENDSHIP,CHARITY and INTEGRITY, applyingthese virtues to our daily lives hasalways been the ULTIMATE GOAL ofevery TRUE MASON.My brothers’, let us show theworld and be good examples of this. And again, I will say that we MEET onthe LEVEL, ACT by the PLUMB andPART my brethren upon the SQUARE,as all masons have pledge to practice. Brethren remember to be TRUEto your fellow masons !Respectfully and Fraternally yours,Miguel F. Jabagat Jr.Senior Warden

14Amity Lodge, San Diego, February 13, 20167By the Plumboverheard some men whispering to theirladies saying “I will love you forever” andthe ladies quipped as well, “yeah right”.With Most Worshipful Martin D Perry, Grand Master of Masons in CaliforniaBrethren, I am delighted to convey the message to you that we had avery successful Pre-Valentines Dinner andDance at the beautiful Embassy Suite inSouth San Francisco, where the parkingwas free. Invocation was offered by ourown Worshipful Jack Palmer. With Right Worshipful John R Heisner, Deputy Grand Master of Masonsin CaliforniaDinner was served with salad, choice of salmon or chicken, completewith coffee and dessert. Most importantly, the dinner plates were served hot andpromptly and orderly that there was nota guest in the house that night that waswaiting and salivating for their dinner, alafive-star hotel treatment, indeed. Our music for that night wasprovided by the grandson of PM RenatoMastrile at a very reasonable price. Everyone seems to like the beat that everybody was dancing and “cutting the rug”so to speak. There was a selection of chacha, jitterbug (boogie), salsa, ballroomdancing, line dancing and as usual, it isthe ladies that stayed longer on thedance floor. They displayed their gracefulness and charm the whole evening. And as usual the Brethren and the gentlemen guests copped out because of fatigue, as their excuse. But because it was the celebration of Valentines, romantic music wasalso played to the delight of the coupleswho greeted each other Happy Valentines by giving each other a kiss. I alsoThe longest kiss contest andobviously the most romantic couple thatnight was awarded to our candidate,Steven Relos and his partner. Other prizeswere dist
