Communications ReportJoseph “Jay” Pflugh, Communications Committee ChairLisa Andres, Media SubcommitteeThe Democrats of Greater Riverside website has seen increased viewership over the last month, with a growth of 6.3% more unique visitors than last month. On the behind-the-scenes front, I installeda new CAPTCHA mechanic to try and fix the problems of the constant spam we were receiving from theContact form, and I am pleased to report that the new CAPTCHA – called hCAPTCHA – has worked like acharm and we have received ZERO spam since installing it on June 27th. Continued monitoring of thissystem will be required, but hopefully this has solved the problem we’ve been having.Going forward, I will be doing some general maintenance on the website to try and make surethat everything is functional and in the proper places. Most viewers of the website probably won’tnotice the changes, and any big changes that may come, I will present before making them official, as Idid with the new Links and Minutes sections, respectively. The President purchased a club Zoom Pro for us to use for meetings, events, etc. Email me if you wantmore details at a SubcommitteeIt was a busy month with all the SCOTUS decisions plus the opening of candidate filings looming in midJuly. We also wanted to take the temperature of the membership with regards to meeting nights andwhich nights were preferred by the majority of member-respondents. With this in mind, the bulk of themonth’s activities consisted of the following:§§§§§§Various original postings surrounding SCOTUS decisions regarding Roe, the EPA, gun control, andsharing of similar informational and news posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the lattertwo platforms showing an increase in followers and audience reachCreated an original graphic for the loss of Roe for the upcoming July newsletterCreated an original GIF for “Contest Every Vote” with dates and the voteinfo.net link shared onall our social platformsCreated zoom links for the EBoard and General Membership MeetingsCreated a survey on Google Forms to query members as to their preference of meeting days andformats http://bit.ly/DGR-MtgSurveySent Vice-President Vacancy Notice to members, General Meeting notices to members and ourmailing list via MailChimp
