It is always recommended that the individual user check the actual output of his unit on site asvariations do occur in formulations, density and atmospheric conditions that affect the flow characteristics of locallyavailable products. The user is also cautioned to make certain he is reading the correct chart and column for hisproduct, metering wheels, Orbit-Air model, and deflector spacing. The below procedure should be followed to guardagainst any of these variables:1) Read the label and cautionary statements of the agricultural chemical you are using.Determine the rate you need to apply in pounds per acre (lb. /A).2) Look up the rate chart for the chemical and deflector/tube spacing. Set the speed control on the applicator foryour rate according to rate chart. (If no chart is available, estimate the speed control setting).NOTE: The above 62 Series implement-mounted Orbit-Air models' rate control units have a scale range of 43increments. Each printed number refers to 10 increments.Example:If a setting of 20 is suggested on the rate chart, align the speed control marker withnumber 2 by turning the adjustment crank.3) Place a plastic bag around each deflector or tube end, securing it around the plastic tube, but leaving one-half ofthe top open to allow air to escape.NOTE: Take precaution so bags are not dragged or torn while making calibration run.4) Start the blower. Adjust blower speed so air stream is adequate to carry product through delivery tubes.Lower ranges such as 8 to 12 oz. /in2 for chemical, or higher for fertilizer and large seeds.5) Checking the Rate:A. Pounds per Acre1. Start the 12-volt motor and run for one (1) minute.2. Weigh the total contents of all bags in pounds.Example: 47 ounces 2.9 pounds3. To calculate acres covered: (Collected width in feet) times 88 (number of feet covered at onemph in one minute) divided by 43,560 (sq. ft. in one acre) equals portion of acre covered.Example: 30 foot width x 88 feet 2,640 sq. ft.2,640 sq. ft. 43,560 .0606 of an acre4. Divide the pounds collected instep #2 by the portion of an acre calculated in step #3.This would be the number of pounds per acre you are applying at one mile per hour.Divide this amount by your speed.Example: 2.9 pounds of product .0606 of an acre 47.8 pounds per acre @ 1 mph.47.8 pounds 5 mph. 9.6 pounds per acre5. Adjust speed control, if needed, and repeat Steps #1 through #4 to achieve desired rate.Continued on next page.62 Rate Chart STATURE MOTOR, August 5, 2015

B. Ounces Per Thousand Foot of Row1. Run the 12-volt Statue electric motor to meter the chemical for 68 seconds.2. Weigh the contents of the bag in ounces.3. Multiply the weight collected by 10 and you will have the ounces per 1000 feet of row yourunit will be applying at one mile per hour. Divide this amount by your speed in miles per hourto determine ounces per 1000 feet being metered at your field speed.4. Adjust speed control, if needed, and repeat Steps #1 through #3 to achieve desired rate.In-The-Row Pesticides and Inoculants(One opening per row)Directions:1. Find rate in ounces per 1,000 feet of row.*If your rate is only given in pounds per acre for aspecific row spacing, refer to the accompanying chart.Under the given row spacing, go down the column underyour planting speed to your rate then left to the propergauge setting for your speed. Row spacing makes nodifference.Pounds to BuyTo determine the pounds of chemical to buy for agiven area:1. Go down left column to your rate in pounds per1,000 feet of row. Go right to the number in thecolumn under your row spacing.2. Multiply this number by the total number ofacres to be treated.*Example: You are applying Counter at 10 ounces perthousand feet of row in 30-inch rows. Go down the ratecolumn to 10, then right to the number in the 30-inch rowspacing column. You will use 10.89 pounds of Counter forevery acre you plant.62 Rate Chart STATURE MOTOR, August 5, 2015
