MeetthePresidentBishop Henry Brown, Sr. is a native ofBaltimore, Maryland. He was born April 18, 1958to the late Deaconess Hallie Brown and the lateDeacon Ulysses Brown. He was educated in theBaltimore City Public School System, graduatingfrom Forest Park High School in 1977.He furthered his education by attending the NorthCarolina Coastal Community College inJacksonville, North Carolina and also in SanDiego, California. He was enrolled in a satellitecourse of the Full Gospel Baptist College of NewOrleans, Louisiana. Bishop Brown has alsostudied at Pitt Community College in Greenville, North Carolina.Bishop Brown is married to the former Carlethea Walker of Baltimore,Maryland. She is a committed and dedicated partner who continues tosupport his work in the ministry, standing by his side as the help meet thatshe has been called to be. They are the proud parents of two sons, Henry,Jr. and Antonio, and one daughter, Nacelia.He heard the call to preach the gospel in 1983 and he accepted the call in1988. He was ordained in 1990 by the United American Freewill BaptistDenomination.His pastorate consists of: Free Will Chapel FWB Church in Pollocksville,North Carolina, Blooming Hill FWB Church in Richlands, North Carolina andcurrently Mt. Calvary FWB Church, Inc, Greenville, North Carolina, serving asthe Senior Pastor.On November 2, 2003, Bishop Brown was consecrated as Bishop at Mt.Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. God has elevated him to another level inthe ministry.Bishop Brown began his pastorate at the Mt. Calvary FWB Church, Inc inNovember 1999. He is a pastor with a vision; a vision for the up-building ofthe kingdom, construction of a larger physical facility and winningmore souls to Christ. Bishop Brown is a man who is compassionate and hasa heart for the people.
Upon his arrival at Mt. Calvary, the ministry had approximately 900members. Under his leadership, it has increased to over 1,800 activemembers. There are over fifty ministries serving this church and thesurrounding community. Some of the ministries address women's & men'sissues, youth and young adult issues, community outreach, illiteracy andcontinued education.In 2009, Bishop had the vision to open a Christian based Bible College toeducate, not just the members of Mt. Calvary, but for the public to have theopportunity to embark upon Christian education at an affordable cost. Afterexpressing his ideas to Elder Pamela Holley and Elder Elizabeth Ward, thevision came to manifestation, in the creation of the Mount Calvary BibleCollege. Upon the beginning, the bible college was a satellite school underthe Summit Bible College of Bakersfield, California. Today the successfullyschool operates independently and is accredited under the Hope BibleConsortium of Bible Institutions. Offering Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’sand Doctorate degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, ChristianCounseling and Leadership.Bishop Brown loves the Lord with his whole heart and being and is a willingvessel continually used by God. He proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christuntiringly.It is his desire to wear out, instead of rust out doing the will of God. With allof his accolades, he is most proud to say that he is a Child of God. Followhim as he follows Christ!
