marketplace.Assisted to the Dean’s Office in important initiatives such as thepreparation of COB’s first Advancement Plan of 2014 and the JoeGriffith Effective Communication Method that led to the Distinctionin Professional Development Program.Strategically recruited adjunct faculty to bring industry andeducation partners and alumni to campus. This practice providedreal-life and experiential learning opportunities for students andfundraising opportunities for the department.Managed class schedules and curriculum efficiently and effectivelyand improved recruitment and retention rates.Created the Get-a-Job, Get-a-Gift initiative to follow-up with newgraduates and provide them with a platform to network.Re-structured COB Center for Excellence (CFE) by moving it underthe COB Dean’s office. Secured funding for a Director and recruitedthe current Director.Established successful budgeting processes and augmented thedepartmental budget with donations into the departmentalExcellence Fund creating tens of thousands of dollars for facultydevelopment and student travel. Students were able to attendeducational events such as NASDAQ visits, Quinnipiac Global AssetManagement Forum, case study competitions, stock marketchallenges, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas essay competitions.Oversaw the most-active student organization in the college;Economics & Finance Society; The Alpha Seekers. This studentorganization won multiple Homecoming, Spirit, and QEP awards.Created the first departmental newsletter; The goal of Lion’sFinancial was to highlight the engagement of our students and theimpact of the faculty.Created the Distinguished Speaker Series to guide finance studentsbeyond the classroom. Each of our speakers were successful financeprofessionals who enjoyed engaging with students. Multiple studentswalked away with internships from these speaking engagements.Secured the very first Bloomberg terminal to support students andfaculty.

Under my leadership, the fund for Finance Lab and student loungegrew over 350,000, the budget was prepared, Bloomberg andTicker connections were made, renderings for the space wereobtained, and specific plans for the usage of the space were arranged.Formed the college’s first Departmental Advisory Board andestablished sub committees with different duties and responsibilitiesincluding a board to assist and advise the student managed fund tobe established.Hosted the annual Financial Planning Day three years in a row. Thetheme of the events have been bridging the Gap Between Studentsand Professionals which provided a platform for students to learnmore about the profession of personal financial planning. The eventgot hundreds of attendees, including participation from eightuniversities including Texas Tech and Texas A & M – College Station,ten employers, and thousands of dollars in sponsorships fromcompanies like Fidelity.Created a departmental faculty mentorship program to supportjunior faculty and engage senior faculty.Assist with development and offer oversight and approval of IE plansand other college and university compliance requirements.Facilitated departmental social gatherings to encourage greaterfaculty involvement and engagement.
