In August 2020, we installed an all-school propane-powered generator due to frequent power outages. The additionof this generator has allowed us to remain open despite losing power in the community around us. In an effort to improveindoor air quality and enhance filtration abilities during COVID-19, we are installing three new HVAC units on our portableclassrooms.Typically, we host two annual parent workdays to provide ongoing maintenance for the campus. On-call skilled contractorshandle more involved projects. The most recent campus inspection was in January 2021. We have our next annual inspectionscheduled for early February 2022.Cleaning Process and Schedule: 8th grade students, under strict supervision and will all-natural cleaners, are the primarysource for cleanliness on the campus. This teaches life skills and promotes a sense of pride and responsibility for their school. We continue to encourage students to pick up trash, wipe down their tables, and vacuum their classrooms. Additionally, wehave two part-time staff and one parent volunteer, who are responsible for the heavy-duty cleaning weekly. We are in the process of securing funding to build a small two-person office space for our Camp Fire counselor and special edteacher. We are also planning to construct a new student restroom facility if we can find a funding source.Year and month of the most recent FIT reportSystem Inspected2021-22 School Accountability Report CardJanuary 2022Rate Rate RateGood Fair PoorPage 5 of 18Repair Needed and Action Taken or PlannedParadise Charter Middle School

B. Pupil Outcomes (State Priority: Pupil Achievement)B. Pupil OutcomesState Priority: Pupil AchievementThe SARC provides the following information relevant to the State priority: PupilAchievement (Priority 4):Statewide Assessments(i.e., California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress [CAASPP]System includes the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for students inthe general education population and the California Alternate Assessments [CAAs]for English language arts/literacy [ELA] and mathematics given in grades threethrough eight and grade eleven. Only eligible students may participate in theadministration of the CAAs. CAAs items are aligned with alternate achievementstandards, which are linked with the Common Core State Standards [CCSS] forstudents with the most significant cognitive disabilities). The CAASPP System encompasses the following assessments and studentparticipation requirements:1. Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments and CAAs for ELA in gradesthree through eight and grade eleven.2. Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments and CAAs for mathematicsin grades three through eight and grade eleven.3. California Science Test (CAST) and CAAs for Science in grades five, eight, and once in high school (i.e., grade ten, eleven, or twelve).SARC Reporting in the 2020-2021 School Year OnlyWhere the most viable option, LEAs were required to administer the statewidesummative assessment in ELA and mathematics. Where a statewide summativeassessment was not the most viable option for the LEA (or for one or more gradelevel[s] within the LEA) due to the pandemic, LEAs were allowed to report resultsfrom a different assessment that met the criteria established by the State Board ofEducation (SBE) on March 16, 2021. The assessments were required to be: Aligned with CA CCSS for ELA and mathematics;Available to students in grades 3 through 8, and grade 11; andUniformly administered across a grade, grade span, school, or district to alleligible students.OptionsNote that the CAAs could only be administered in-person following health andsafety requirements. If it was not viable for the LEA to administer the CAAs inperson with health and safety guidelines in place, the LEA was directed to notadminister the tests. There were no other assessment options available for theCAAs. Schools administered the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments forELA and mathematics, other assessments that meet the SBE criteria, or acombination of both, and they could only choose one of the following: Smarter Balanced ELA and mathematics summative assessments;Other assessments meeting the SBE criteria; orCombination of Smarter Balanced ELA and mathematics summativeassessments and other assessments. The percentage of students who have successfully completed courses that satisfythe requirements for entrance to the University of California and the California StateUniversity, or career technical education sequences or programs of study.2021-22 School Accountability Report CardPage 7 of 18Paradise Charter Middle School

Percentage of Students Meeting or Exceeding the State Standard on CAASPPPercentage of Students Meeting or Exceeding the State Standard on CAASPPThis table displays CAASPP test results in ELA and mathematics for all students grades three through eight and grade eleventaking and completing a state-administered assessment. The 2019-2020 data cells with N/A values indicate that the 2019-2020 data are not available due to the COVID-19 pandemic andresulting summative test suspension. The Executive Order N-30-20 was issued which waived the assessment, accountability, andreporting requirements for the 2019-2020 school year. The 2020-2021 data cells have N/A values because these data are not comparable to other year data due to the COVID-19pandemic during the 2020-2021 school year. Where the CAASPP assessments in ELA and/or mathematics is not the most viableoption, the LEAs were allowed to administer local assessments. Therefore, the 2020-2021 data between school years for theschool, district, state are not an accurate comparison. Three of the five voting board memberscurrently have students enrolled. The governing board serves the same purpose as other governing boards which overseelarger school districts. Their primary responsibilities are to set and maintain our school policies, hire and release schoolpersonnel, monitor the school's budget, mediate disputes, evaluate the administrator and ensure that the characteristics of ourcharter are effectively implemented. Meetings are open to the public and are held on the fourth Tuesday monthly at 5:00 pm.The other parent organization is our Parent Leadership Council (PLC). The PLC has its own governing board consisting of amaximum of sixteen voting members. Each voting member chairs a different committee, and the committees work together tosupport PCMS. Their primary function is to host community building events and raise funds for the field trips that each gradeparticipates in. Typically, the PLC meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month either 3:30 or 5:00 pm to accommodateparents' schedules. If there are any questions, please contact Bev Landers, the Executive Director at 530-872-7277.--------2021-22 School Accountability Report CardPage 13 of 18Paradise Charter Middle School
