ConstructionOptionsSeries V Cooling Towers are available in a widerange of construction options to meet theindividual corrosion resistance, unit operatinglife, and budgetary requirements of every job.Standard Corrosion ResistantConstructionAll steel panels and structural elements of theSeries V Cooling Tower are constructed ofheavy gauge G235 (Z700 metric) hot-dipgalvanized steel as standard. The ASTMdesignation G235 (Z700 metric) means that theweight of protective zinc coating is 2.35 ouncesper square foot of steel surface, as verified bythe ASTM A525 Triple-Spot Test. A zinc-richprimer is applied to the cut edges of all hot-dipgalvanized components prior to assembly. Thisstandard corrosion resistant construction willprovide reliable corrosion protection and longlife for most industrial cooling, air conditioning, and refrigeration applications.Optional BALTIBOND Corrosion Protection SystemMany galvanized steel cooling towers areprematurely replaced due to short termexposures to abnormally corrosive conditionscaused by unexpected upsets in chemicaltreatment programs or other factors. TheBALTIBOND Corrosion Protection Systemis an advancement in materials engineeringdeveloped by BAC specifically for increasedprotection from adverse operating conditions.The manufacturing process fuse bonds a specialhybrid polymer to all hot-dip galvanized steelcomponents of the cooling tower, extending thelife of the base material.
