Seventh annualShining the Light on Wound Care Virtual SymposiumPlease click here to registerStatement of need: The need for this activity stems from theever changing and expanding fund of knowledge that existsin the Wound Care field. Also the strain of chronic woundson both the patient and health system as a whole providereason to host an educational conference. This symposiumwill address current concerns and knowledge gaps as wellas provide various solutions to everyday problems faced bywound care practitioners and patients. This CME activityaims to provide Wound Care professionals and specialistswith up-to-date knowledge and techniques of currentwound care practices.Program objectives: All Northwell Health CME activities aredesigned to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. Atthe conclusion of this conference, participants should beable to:– Examine current treatment and challengesincurred from the COVID pandemicwith the effect on wound care.– Assess the ways in which diabetes guides theformulation of medical, surgical, nutritionaland podiatric treatment plans.– Discuss the use of current topical woundtherapies for optimal wound healing.– Integrate advances in limb salvage inhelping to assist in wound healing– Recommend guidelines for identifying andcontrolling infection in different types of wounds– Review skills needed to assess wounds anddemonstrate dressing management.Target audience: Wound Care Specialists, VascularSurgeons, Dermatologists, Podiatrists, Nutritionists,Physical Therapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Pedorthists,PAs, NPs, RNs, Residents, and Fellows.Joint Accreditation Statement:In support of improving patient care,Northwell Health is jointly accreditedby the Accreditation Council forContinuing Medical Education(ACCME), the Accreditation Councilfor Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American NursesCredentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuingeducation for the healthcare team.Credit Designation Statements– Physicians: Northwell Health designates thislive activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRACategory 1 Credits .
