DXC-D30WS/P(E)/V1Advanced Menu SettingsOverviewAbout This ManualThis booklet constitutes an operation manual for DXCD30WSL/D30WSPL 16:9 wide-screen type digitalvideo camera together with the common OperatingInstructions for the DXC-D30 series of digital videocameras.1)This book describes only the differences between theDXC-D30WSL/D30WSPL and other DXC-D30 seriesdigital video cameras. For information about generalcamera operations, handling precautions and so forth, consult the common Operating Instructions for theDXC-D30 series cameras. When reading the common Operating Instructions, please keep it in mind that “D30” in the camera modelname should be replaced with “D30WS” and that“701” in the viewfinder model name should bereplaced with “701WS.”FeaturesThe DXC-D30WSL/D30WSPL is a 16:9 wide-screentype digital video camera. It combines the superiorperformance of the DXC-D30L/D30PL 4:3 standardscreen type digital video camera with the followingfeatures.2/3-inch IT Type Power HAD WS CCDThe DXC-D30WSL/D30WSPL uses a newlydeveloped 520,000-pixel Power HAD WS (widescreen) CCD, for outstanding sensitivity and picturequality. Sensitivity: F11.0 (at 3200 K, 2000 lx) S/N: 63 dB Smear: –120 dBSwitchable between 16:9 and 4:3 aspectratiosA simple menu operation provides instant switchingbetween the 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. In 4:3 mode, ascreen equivalent to a 4:3 screen is obtained throughdigital processing of the 16:9 video signals producedby the WS CCD.Wide-aspect ID signalsA menu setting is available to add wide-aspect IDsignals 2) to 16:9-mode video signals.3)14Advanced menu page 3For the DXC-D30WSL/D30WSPL, the item “PRE.WHT” has been added to page 3 of the Advancedmenu (see page 58 of the common OperatingInstructions for the DXC-D30 series).Advanced menu page numbersDXC-D30 seriesPage 9nPage 10nPage 11nPage 12nPage 13nPage 14nDXC-D30WSL/D30WSPLPage 10Page 11Page 12Page 13Page 14Page 15The items on page 9 of the DXC-D30WSL/D30WSPLAdvanced menu are shown below.PAGE 3(NEXTm PREVm4)AdditionAutomatic aspect ratio switching inviewfinderPAGE 9(NEXTm PREVm4)mAWB MEM :2PRE. This item can be set toeither STD (standard value) or AI (artificialintelligence). In the DXC-D30WSL/D30WSPL, the STD mode hasbeen enhanced by incorporating functions from the AImode.
