PROGRAM OVERVIEW& TARGET AUDIENCEThis program is designed to demonstrate theapplication and execution of therapeuticgastrointestinal endoscopy. Using a format oflectures and live cases, our local and invitedfaculty will address challenges & practical solutions in the endoscopic management of digestivedisorders including benign and malignant disorders of the esophagus, gastroduodenum, pancreas,bile ducts, and colorectum. Additional topics will include applications of endoluminal resection,radiofrequency ablation, argon plasma coagulation, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, polypectomy,and endoprosthetic therapies.The program will also focus on the current research and recommendations for managingpatients with acute and chronic liver disease, including viral and autoimmune hepatitis,metabolic liver disease, portal hypertensive bleeding, refractory ascites, hepatic encephalopathy,liver transplantation and issues affecting liver transplant recipients.This conference is designed for Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, GI Surgeons, GI Radiologists,Gastroenterology Fellows, GI Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Residentsand Medical Students.LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this educational activity, the participant will be better able to: Describe the role of emerging technologies for medical and endoscopic managementof benign and malignant disorders of the gastrointestinal tract Discuss how to apply high-yield clinical pearls to diagnose complex hepatobiliary disordersOutline controversial areas of the endoscopic management of esophageal, gastric,small bowel, colonic and pancreaticobiliary disorders Evaluate new guidelines and guidance in the management of acute and chronic liver diseaseHOSTING DEPARTMENTThe 14th Annual Penn Live: GI Endoscopy and Liver Disease 2022 is hosted by theDivision of Gastroenterology at Penn Medicine.

ACCREDITATIONIn support of improving patient care, Penn Medicine is jointly accredited bythe Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), theAccreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the AmericanNurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education forthe healthcare team.DESIGNATION OF CREDITPhysicians: Penn Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.5 AMA PRA Category 1Credits . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of theirparticipation in the activity.ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includesparticipation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earnup to 12.5 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM)Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to theamount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility tosubmit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certifiedfor AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized statemedical society.
