Theprogram by the DestinationsInternational Foundation issupported by founding programpartner, SearchWide Globaland sponsored by IMEX Group,MMGY Global and NorthstarMeetings Group. 1 There were 48 destinationorganizations that receivedDMAP recognition during theAnnual Convention. Fifteen ofthose destinations were newlyaccredited. Congratulations! 2 This year’s Annual Conventionfeatured two public relationsfocused sessions includinga panel on the “DrasticallyChanging Media Landscape”with Chris Heywood, EVP ofGlobal Communications with382There were 31 destinationorganization leaders whoreceived their CertifiedDestination ManagementExecutive (CDME) credential,the tourism industry’s highestindividual achievement. Theseleaders have invested intheir education and are nowequipped with the knowledgeneeded to adapt to andmanage the increasing changeand competition facing ourindustry. 4 During the convention, DonWelsh, President and CEO ofDestinations International, andSherrif Karamat, President andCEO of PCMA, announced ajoint venture for DestinationShowcase.
