B. Molecular Conceptor 2 LicenseSynergix Synergix Electronic End-User Software License AgreementTHIS AGREEMENT IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT. READ IT CAREFULLYBEFORE COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS AND USINGTHE SOFTWARE. IT PROVIDES A LICENSE TO USE THE SOFTWAREAND CONTAINS WARRANTY INFORMATION AND LIABILITYDISCLAIMERS. BY INSTALLING AND USING THE SOFTWARE, YOUARE CONFIRMING ACCEPTANCE OF THE SOFTWARE ANDAGREEING TO BECOME BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THISAGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO DO SO, DO NOT COMPLETETHE INSTALLATION PROCESS. PROMPTLY RETURN THE ENTIREPACKAGE TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU OBTAINED IT, FOR A FULLREFUND.1.Definitions(a) "Synergix" means Synergix Ltd. and its licensors, if any.(b) "Software" means the programs which may also include documentation,associated media (e.g.:text(s), Molecule(s), 3D visualization(s), picture(s),animation(s)), printed materials, voice(s), and online and electronicdocumentation, supplied by Synergix herewith, and any and all updates thereto.(c) "Network License" means a multi users license of the Software accessibleacross a network controled by Aladdin License Manager. License terms allowfor example 50, 100 (or more) users to access the software concurrently.2.LicenseThis Agreement allows you to:(a) Install and use the Software on a single computer and make one copy ofthe Software in machine-readable form solely for backup purposes. You mustreproduce on any such copy all copyright notices and any other proprietarylegends on the original copy of the Software.Page 4

(b)If you have purchased a Network License for the Software product, youmay install the Software on a storage device, such as a network server, and runthe Software on an internal network only, provided the number of concurrentusers does not exceed the number authorized by the Network License.(c)If you have the evaluation version or the demo version of the Software,you may use it for internal testing and evaluation purposes only.3.License RestrictionsOther than as set in Section 2, you may not install the Software on a storagedevice, such as a network server, and run the Software on an internal network,you may not use the Software without the supplied protection key, you may notmake or distribute copies of the Software, or electronically transfer theSoftware from one computer to another or over a network. You may notdecompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise reduce the Software toa human-perceivable form. You may not lend, rent, lease, sublicense, ortransfer for value the Software. You may not modify the Software or createderivative works based upon the Software. You may not copy or post any partof it on any network computer or broadcast it in any media. You may not giveaccess to the software from a computer outside your institution, (e.g. accessfrom a web page). You may not transfer the software or any part of it, into anyother application, media, or viewer (e.g. PowerPoint, html page). You may notcreate hard-copy of the software or any part of it.4.OwnershipThe foregoing license gives you limited rights to use the Software. Althoughyou own the media on which the Software is recorded, you do not become theowner of, and Synergix Ltd. retains title to, the Software, and all copiesthereof. All rights not specifically granted in this Agreement, including Federaland International Copyrights, are reserved by Synergix.5.Limited Warranties(a) Synergix warrants that, for a period of ninety (90) days from the date ofdelivery (as evidenced by a copy of your receipt): (i) when used with arecommended hardware configuration, the Software and the protection key willperform in substantial conformance with the documentation supplied with theSoftware; and (ii) that the media on which the Software is furnished will befree from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. AS SET FORTH IN THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY, SynergixDISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, EITHEREXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES ORCONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULARPURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IF APPLICABLE LAW IMPLIESANY WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE AND THEPROTECTION KEY, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED INDURATION TO NINETY (90) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY.No oral or written information or advice given by Synergix, its dealers,distributors, agents or employees shall create a warranty or in any way increasethe scope of this warranty.(b) (USA only)SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSIONOF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOTAPPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGALRIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS WHICHVARY FROM STATE TO STATE.6.Exclusive RemedyYour exclusive remedy under Section 5 is to return the Software and theprotection key to the place you acquired it, with a copy of your receipt and adescription of the problem. Synergix will use reasonable commercial efforts tosupply you with a replacement copy of the Software and/or the protection keythat substantially conforms to the documentation, provide a replacement fordefective media, or refund to you your purchase price for the Software, at itsoption. Synergix shall have no responsibility if the Software has been altered inany way, if the media has been damaged by accident, abuse or misapplication,or if the failure arises out of use of the Software with other than arecommended hardware configuration. After 90 days, basic cost may apply forreplacement of the software and/or protection key.7.Limitation of Liability.IN NO EVENT WILL SYNERGIX OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TOYOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,PUNITIVE OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITSOR LOST SAVINGS, EVEN IF A REPRESENTATIVE OF SYNERGIX ORANY SUPPLIER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCHDAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY THIRD PARTY. C.3Viewer ActiveX ControlThe 3D visualization of molecules in Molecular Conceptor 2 is based on"Viewer ActiveX Control" from Accelrys IncFor more information about the Accelrys Viewer products visit http://www.accelrys.comC.4The HASP KeyNote: MC team began to introduce a new version of Molecular Conceptor,which does not depend on a hardware key. Detailed instructions for using thisversion can be found on our website –http://www.drugdesign.com/web/support/license activationThe HASP key is a small hardware device (sometimes called a dongle) thatprotects Molecular Conceptor against piracy. You must insert the key intoyour computer USB port only AFTER the completion of the installationprocedure.Page 10

D. Software InstallationD.1Installation of Molecular ConceptorNote: Molecular Conceptor must be installed by a user with administratorprivileges.To Install:1. Close all Windows applications.2. Insert the Molecular Conceptor DVD into your DVD-ROM drive. If the"Molecular Conceptor Installation Setup" doesn't automatically run, doubleclick the 'mc2 setup.exe' program in the root directory of the DVD.3. Click Next.Page 11

4. Read carefully the License Agreement.5. If you accept all the terms, click I accept the agreement and press Next.Page 12

6. Click Next.7. Select Component Regular Installation: Regular Installation – Standalone Version: This is the recommendedinstallation for Molecular Conceptor standalone version. Custom Installation - Network Version: Not used in MolecularConceptor standalone version8. Click Next.Page 13

9. The Installation program will copy Molecular Conceptor files to thecomputer hard disk, and will install the HASP driver. You might be asked toreboot the computer.10. Click Finish.11. If you own a HASP key, after the completion of the installation program,insert your HASP key into your computer USB port.Page 14

E. Running Molecular ConceptorRun Molecular Conceptor via the Start menu:Start Menu Programs Molecular Conceptor Learning Series MolecularConceptorYou can also run Molecular Conceptor by double-clicking on the shortcut iconon your desktop. If you prefer not having the shortcut icon on your Desktop,you can delete it; the program will still be available by the Start menu.Page 15
