DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY PROGRAMABOUT THE SCHEDULEThe 2021 Annual meeting of the FRS & FRBMA will focuson intermediate-term strategies for competing and succeedingin the US radiology marketplace, with an emphasis onimportant trends expected in 2021 and beyond. This year’stheme is “Excelling in an Ever-changing Paradigm” and eachyear we kick off the Annual meeting Friday morning with theFRS/FRBMA Golf Tournament. The fun continues Fridayevening as our exhibitors and members come together forthe popular Wine and Cheese Reception in the Exhibit Hall.We are always very grateful for the exhibitors’ support and weappreciate a personal visit with the exhibitors to thank themfor their continued support of the FRS & FRBMA. There areadditional opportunities to interact with our exhibitors onSaturday as the breakfast and coffee break will be held in theexhibit hall, and later, exhibitors will lunch with attendees toallow for continued discussion and interaction.The FRBMA Meeting begins on Friday afternoon with anexcellent slate of recognized speakers. The FRBMA will jointhe FRS Diagnostic General Session on Saturday morningwith an outstanding lineup of nationally recognized speakers.The FRS morning session will be highlighted by the LawrenceR. This will be followed by the Philip S. Cook, MDFACR FSIR Strategic Issues Lecture – Dr. Frank Lexa willpresent “Strategic Challenges for US Radiology: Impact ofPandemic, Recession, & Politics.Later in the morning, Dr. Howard B Fleishon, Chair of theACR BOC, will present the ”ACR Update”. On Saturdayafternoon, we will have the Steven G. Miles, MD FACRRadiology Keynote Socioeconomic Address – featuring Dr.Lauren Golding’s, presentation of “How Radiologists Get PaidToday & Tomorrow.”Also on Saturday, there will be breakout sessions for RadiationOncology and the Resident and Fellow Sections. Our marqueeevent, the Gold Medal Reception and Cocktail Party,will be held early Saturday evening to honor the FRS GoldMedal recipient, the FRBMA Above and Beyond Award,and The LaDonna Nichols Lifetime Achievement Awardrecipient. Other outstanding FRS & FRBMA members will berecognized for their contributions to the practice of radiologythroughout the year. The earlier time for this event allowsopportunity to go out and enjoy the rest of the evening.On Sunday, day will begin with the Charles D. Williams,M.D., FACR Legacy Lecture and Breakfast presented byDr. Michael Raskin, “The Interface of Radiology and the Law;Past, Present & Future”. This will be followed by the ClinicalKeynote Lecture by Dr. Christine Menias “Imaging Findingsof Side Effects of Oncologic Therapies in the Abdomen”.TARGET AUDIENCEThis CME activity is structured as a practical teaching coursefor diagnostic imaging physicians, radiation therapy physicians,and their business managers. RADIATION ONCOLOGY PROGRAMABOUT THE MEETINGEDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVESThe Radiation Oncology session will include presentationsfrom both attending faculty and residents. Presentationswill review important issues including recent advances inlymphoma management, personalizing radiotherapy optionsfor early-stage NSCLC, use of MRI guided radiotherapy forabdominal tumors, evolving treatment of brain metastases inbreast cancer as well as provide a practical review of head andneck anatomy.Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to: Understand the recent advances in lymphomamanagement. Understand how to personalize radiotherapy options forearly-stage NSCLC. Understand the use of MRI guided radiotherapy forabdominal tumors. Understand the evolving treatment paradigm of brainmetastases in breast cancer.
