Please reach out to me or anyLodge Officer with your thoughts! At the first meeting of the new lodgeyear, I discussed how to be truly greatat something, you need to be veryclear about your reasons for doing it,so I asked everyone to take a momentto privately reflect on why they became an Elk and why they became amember of the New London Lodge ofElks #360. Personally, I became amember of Elks 360 because I saw anopportunity to give back to the community that I love. An opportunity tohelp kids to be their best, to provideaid to those who have served ourcountry, to make new friends and attend fun events. At the Elks Lodge#360 I found a fantastic group of people who have been doing all of thatand more for over 100 years. So, whydid you become an Elk?May the Star of Fidelity continue toguide us along our path.Fraternally yours,John Graham, 126th Exalted RulerNew London Elks 360Page 15

Page 12New London Elks 360New London Elks 360Secretary’s Cornerby Erika RussoPage 5Seriously where is the time going. Let me start off by saying theselast couple of months have been some of the busiest I have hadsince becoming an Elk 7 years ago. I’ll be honest, I was floundering.Who could believe the amount of work it takes to end a term yearwith the Elks and start a new one? The events needing to be set up,membership dues letters, membership cards, installation of officers.EOY, OOY, and COY event/dinner, filling out end of year reports forthe grand lodge and state, invitations to all, communications andconversations with elk members, and so much more. I thought I wasgoing to have to give up. I didn’t because I knew I had the support ofmy fellow elk members, especially the officers. You are all my family, and Henry would never have forgiven me if I gave up. I miss himevery day, and I try so hard to keep up with how well he ran things. Inow have this year under my belt and I feel so much more preparedfor the coming years. Thank you for electing me to continue beingthe secretary of the New London Lodge of Elks #360.The membership dues for 2022 – 2023 are now due. The dues are 125 for regular membership and 65 for life membership. The newkeycard to enter the New London Lodge is PINK this year, and youguessed it, I picked the color and it is perfect!
