Message from the DeanWelcome to SDSU Imperial Valley!It is with great pleasure that we present the2017-2018 Bulletin of the Imperial ValleyCampus of San Diego State University.Its publication coincides with the campus’58 years of providing higher education tothe students of Imperial Valley. During thistime we have evolved from an institutioncreated to grant elementary teachingcredentials to one that now offers a numberof undergraduate and graduate degrees,as well as credentialing programs. Thelearning experiences of our students can take many forms, rangingfrom lectures to discussions, hands-on activities to being online;and are taught by our highly qualified faculty. In 2004, our campusopened the north site in Brawley that allows us to better serve theneeds of Imperial County.To augment the in-class education of our students, the campussupports a variety of student activities under the auspices ofAssociated Students Council. These activities, and cultural andsocial activities and international travel, play an important role in theoverall development of the students of this campus.We take pride in the educational opportunities offered at the ImperialValley Campus of San Diego State University and look forward towelcoming you to our campus.Gregorio A.
