We are Cayuga Community College!Our History and TraditionCayuga Community College, a unit of the StateUniversity of New York with locations in the cities ofAuburn and Fulton, is a two-year community collegesponsored by Cayuga County and governed by a10-member Board of Trustees.Committed to being the community college forboth Cayuga and Oswego counties, the Collegeofers transfer and career-oriented curricula on adegree and certificate basis through day, evening,online, and summer sessions. For groups such as highschool students, government agencies, retirees, andindustrial, business and professional personnel, theCollege also ofers credit and credit-free specializedinstruction according to need and interest.Founded under the sponsorship of the Auburn CitySchool District in 1953 as Auburn Community College,the College changed its oficial name to CayugaCounty Community College in 1975 when CayugaCounty assumed sponsorship.The Auburn Campus is located in the seat ofCayuga County in New York State’s Finger LakesRegion. The Fulton Campus is located in OswegoCounty, just 10 miles from the southeast shore ofLake Ontario. Both locations ofer a blend of rural andurban cultures with a rich variety of recreational andcultural opportunities including museums, parks, andtheatrical and musical venues. The cities of Ithaca,Syracuse and Rochester are an easy drive from eitherlocation.The Fulton Campus, which originated in January1994, relocated to a larger location at River Glen Drivein the Fall 2012. This location ofers classrooms andlabs, student space, ofices, and much more.Cayuga StudentsStudents choose Cayuga for a variety of reasons.While many students pursue a degree or certificate, asignificant number take courses for other reasons: togain specific job skills, explore an area of interest, pickup courses needed for a degree elsewhere, or preparefor transfer to another institution.
