Counselling:As per the Gazette Notification issued by the MCI under Clause 9A(2) the designatedauthority for conducting counseling is DGHS for all PG seats of Deemed Universities.Candidates who intend to apply for admission to M.D./M.S. degree courses for theacademic year 2021-22, in Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute are advised toregister themselves through online web portal of Directorate General of Health Services,New Delhi i.e. www.mcc.nic.in (Medical Counseling Committee) for participating incommon counselling and they are advised to periodically check the MCC website forupdates viz., Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Schedule/re-schedule of counsellingdates and its process etc.IX. Procedure of admission and details about payment of fees:On obtaining the online allotment order from the Medical Counseling Committee, NewDelhi the allotted student shall report to the University office, Chettinad Academy ofResearch and Education and fill the application cum reporting form along with theallotment order within the due date as indicated in the allotment order and pay the entiretuition fee and other applicable fee etc., for the academic year 2021-22. Otherwisehe/she shall forfeit his/her offer of admission to the course in the Institution without anynotice and will have no right to claim the seat, in future.Candidates provisionally allotted for admission will have to submit all required originalcertificates with the Institution. Candidates with provisional allotment letter are advised to submit all the necessary original documents, pay the tuition and join as early as possible and not to wait for last day ofjoining, considering the time required to complete admission formalities.If a candidate fails to report on the date and time specified by MCC of DGHS in the allotment order along with the original Certificates/Documents and/or fails to pay the tuitionfee by Demand Draft/Electronic Fund Transfer through RTGS with UTR No. (For NRI Students Wire Transfer) on the day of admission, he/she will not permitted to proceed withthe admission process.Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that "their original certificates are deposited with the Institute / College / University" will not be allowed to takeadmission as directed by DGHS, New Delhi. Without original documents and payment oftuition fee candidate will be considered as "Not reported"Admitted students are bound by the Rules and Regulations of this University framed fromtime to time in the matter of syllabus, examinations, fee structure, discipline and policy forrefund of fee etc.The University reserves the right to change any of the conditions enumerated periodicallyor for the purpose of complying with any of the regulations of the statutory councils.Students himself / herself must be present at the time of reporting. Candidates to note that any break of study beyond twice theduration of the course is considered as discontinuance of the course.According to Clause 13.2 of the MCI Regulations, “All the candidates joining the PostGraduate training programme shall work as ‘Full Time Residents’ during the period ofChettinad Hospital and Research Institute – Information Bulletin – M.D. / M.S. training and shall attend not less than 80% (Eighty per cent) of the imparted trainingduring each academic year including assignments, assessed full-time responsibilities andparticipation in all facets of the educational process.”All disputes arising in the interpretation and implementation of the provisions in this information bulletin will be referred to the Vice Chancellor, Chettinad Academy of Research andEducation and the decision of the Vice Chancellor shall be final and binding.In respect of matters relating to or arising out of this information bulletin, the jurisdiction shallbe at Chennai alone.Tamil Nadu Medical Council directives (as per letter dated 19.12.2019):Candidates from other states who are pursuing post graduate courses in Tamilnadu andPondicherry have to register themselves in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council within 3months of admission.Penalty clause: To impose a penalty that Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) wouldbe levied as fine to the candidates of other states who studying PG courses in Tamilnaduand Pondicherry if not registered within the prescribed time (3 months).The penalty for such candidates for registering at the end of the course would beRs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only).XIII. Ragging in any form is prohibited in the University Campus:The University follows a Zero Tolerance Policy towards Ragging. Ragging in any form is acrime and a punishable offence. As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court ofIndia, University Grants Commission has framed “Regulations on Curbing the Menace ofRagging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” and the National Medical Commission /Medical Council of India has framed “(Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in MedicalColleges/Institutions) Regulations, 2009” and notified in the Govt. of India Gazette inorder to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging. For NRI / OCI / PIO :The definition of NRI for admission to Deemed Universities shall be as per Hon’bleSupreme Court order dated 22.08.2017 in WP No.689/2017.Admission in MD/MS degree course under NRI quota for 2021-22 shall be based on theNEET PG 2021 qualification and shall come through DGHS counseling.Please note that the tuition fee for NRI candidates should be remitted in US Dollar only.Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India who have obtained their primary medical qualification from Medical Colleges outside India should have passed the screening test,Internship completion on or before 30.09.2021 and qualified in NEET PG 2021Foreign Medical Graduates are required to bring their FMGE Pass Certificate issued byNBERegistration with National Medical Commission / Medical Council of India / State MedicalCouncil is mandatory with documentary proof. NRI quota shall include OCI and PIO.OCI Candidates will be eligible for UR/General Category seats only for the academic year2021-22 as an interim measure passed vide Order dated 08/11/2021 in W.P. (C) No. 1397of 2020 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India wherein Ministry of Home AffairsGazette Notification No. S.O.1050(E) dated 04th March, 2021 was under challenge.Candidates who fall under the category NRI as per the direction / orders of the Hon’bleSupreme Court of India in the case (W.P.
