The leak is affecting the water pressurefor the bank as well as the Title Pawn office. We have been waiting on the DOT permit so that we can bore a new lineunder 515 and abandon the leaking line. I heard from a DOT representative this morning and we should have our permitby the end of the week. I have attached 2 quotes for the bore and need to get approval from 3 council members toproceed. Because the situation is having a very negative impact on our customers and because they have been waiting awhile due to the DOT permit, my recommendation is that we consider how soon the contractors can do the job. Bothhave done work for the City and do a very good job. I would like an approval as follows:To allow Appalachian Cable to proceed with the work since they have the lowest quote unless it is going to be more than10 days before they can be here. In the event that they will be over 10 days and McClure communications(contracted byHolloway Trenching) can get here faster I would like the option to choose them if necessary. If you do not already knowBB&T is threatening to call EPD which could result in a fine for us.Please feel free to let me know if you have any other suggestions or what your thoughts are on this, I just ask thateveryone respond quickly in the best interest ofthe customer and the City.1
