The seamless journey: Examples Rapid acceptance ofTransport for London’s BikeSharing Scheme: 2.5 MioJourneys with 5.000bicycles at 315 dockingstations within the first 6months of operation.Access to city centre reservedto pedestrians, cyclists andpublic transport (e.g. Ghent) Transdev - Veolia: offeringa broad range of bicycleschemes incl. 24 hrs bikesharing scheme. Result:2010 – 6.000 bicycles,1.300 bicycle parkingfacilities, 1.000.000 bicycletrips and 1.8 mio Euroturnover.

The Seamless Journey: - How to succeed (2)Cycling and walking As part of a global and integrated transport strategy for yourcity Provide a dense network of good & comfortable public bicyclesharing stations – for easy accessibility – at least 150bicycles' fleet size Create infrastructure for a safe and comfortable route to/from the station and cycle parking facilities at the stations Efficient service and communication. Pedestrian oriented city: street-facing buildings, good-streetand side-walk opportunity, encourage car-free historic citycentresCoordinated pricing, ticketing, as well as marketing
