Governor’s MessageDear Kiwanis Friends,Here we are in November and with gratitude we begin to see the fruitof our servant leadership. Have you seen Dan Yates’ great report: 118 newmembers in MO-ARK in October! Way To Go!!!!! Our goal is 850 for theyear and I believe we can reach 1000. Reaching that goal alone would be asuccessful yearBut we do have additional and important goals. We need to start somenew clubs. Do you have friends or family in a ”Kiwanisless” communitywho would like to help start a club or a satellite? Let your Lt. Gov. and DanYates know.We need to work on our planning and signature projects using the toolsfrom the I-Plan and the Formula. They work best when we use them. All but eleven of our clubs have now registered their officers withKiwanis International. Dan Yates has done exceptional work in gettingthat done. Are your club officers registered? Next months I might namenames.Regional trustees are beginning to set the dates for the Governor’s visit.I want to see YOU there. All of us were saddened by Jan Sinclair’s sudden death. ( I wish youcould all have been to the service celebrating her life, it was an inspiringtime.) She was a wonder to behold as the Key Club Administrator and educator. The good news is that Jim Zuroweste has come out of retirement toresume his former position and the rest of the adult staff and youth councilwill carry on with increasing commitment. This is good time to make our annual gifts to the Outreach Fund,Earl Collins, and the Kiwanis Children’s Fund and to continue to supportEliminate and the Beatrice Johnson Kiwanis Youth Camp. You are generousKiwanians and you prove that year after year after year. Our Motto is “Serving the children of the World”. Let’s keep doing it andget better at it this year. Kids need Kiwanis and we are here to meet thoseneeds.Have a great day and a wonderful season of giving Thanks. It is an honor to serve as your governor.“Energize The Dream that every child is happy, healthy, safe and loved.”Roger JespersenMoArk Kiwanis Governor3 November, 2016 KIWANIGRAM

“KIDS NEED KIWANIS”Hello to all the Kiwanigram readers. I wouldlike to thank everyone that supported me as I am sohumbled to now be the Governor Elect for the awesomeMO-ARK District for 2016-2017. I will make everyeffort to fulfil the goals I shared at the District Convention and to support each club this year. Many of you do not know me yet. I am a Kiwanianand Master Instructor for CLE. Most importantly I ama Wife, Mother, Grandma, and retired educator. I love to spend time withfamily, bake, read, and show my classic 1969 Cougar Eliminator in car shows.I enjoy doing community service as I was raised to give back to the community in every way possible.I will support Governor Roger with his goals as we progress through thisyear. Yes, you guessed the number one goal. We MUST grow in membershipnumbers by building new clubs and strengthening existing clubs. The kiddosin our district need us, now more than ever.I must remind clubs that here we are in early October, at the time of thiswriting, and we have many clubs that have not completed their election ofofficers for this year. Kiwanis International and the District can’t contactclubs if we don’t have good information regarding the officers. I am hopefulthat all officers are now trained through the CLE officer training but I currently can’t see the numbers since the officer reports aren’t filed. Please helpme by checking with your club secretary to verify that your club is in compliance. All clubs should have completed the Youth Protection training duringSeptember. If your club hasn’t done this, please make every effort to completethis training soon. I hope every club has met the Governor’s Challenge toregister at least one camper for the Key Leader Camp. This will be the mostworthwhile money your club spends, along with the other SLPs you support.I will do some traveling throughout the district this year as I tag along withRoger. I look forward to meeting many Kiwanians and seeing the awesomesignature projects of our clubs.More hands equal more service and more members equal more fun and better program opportunities. In the name of Kiwanis,Cheryl AndersonGovernor-Elect 2016-201710 November, 2016 KIWANIGRAM
