This is a60-credit hour program within the Blinn College Division of Natural and Physical Sciences.We have two tracks: 1) a 2-year traditional track with lectures and laboratories on campusand 2) a 3-year blended track with lectures online and laboratories on campus. The blendedtrack is ideal for students with other commitments, such as a full-time job. Upon successfulcompletion of the program, an Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technologydegree will be conferred. Everything you need to complete your application is included hereand on our website.First, you will find an Admission Criteria Checklist. This checklist outlines therequirements that must be met before applying to the Veterinary Technology Program. Youwill also find an Admission Documents Checklist, which lists all of the necessary documentsrequired for your packet submission. Please review all of this information carefully prior tocompleting your packet. A complete application to Blinn College, including officialtranscripts from all schools, is required before applying to the Veterinary TechnologyProgram. The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, 2021. Completed applicationpackets must be emailed to VetTech@Blinn.edu by midnight. Failure to meet this deadlineand/or submission of an incomplete application packet will disqualify the applicant from theselection process. Your three references and supervisors of veterinary experience will becontacted by our office to submit their documentation. They will have until May 7, 2021, tosubmit their documentation. Please communicate this to these individuals.If your application meets criteria for selection, you will be scheduled for aninterview. Interviews will be held by video conference May 7-8 and May 13-15. Followinginterviews and a final review of admission criteria, successful candidates will be notified oftheir acceptance. Applicants accepted into the Veterinary Technology Program must attend amandatory orientation that will be scheduled prior to the start of the semester. Please beadvised that accepted candidates must also provide proof of current immunizations(including Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Rabies), and will be asked to submit a criminalbackground check prior to the start of classes. VETERINARY TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM – ADMISSION CRITERIA CHECKLISTThe following requirements MUST be met before a student makes application to theVeterinary Technology Program. Application deadline is April 30, 2021. Failure to completeany of these requirements prior to the application deadline disqualifies an individual for thecurrent year’s application process. Apply to Blinn College. If you are not a current student at Blinn College, please apply at this time. Goto http://www.blinn.edu/admissions/ for instructions. Select PVTH (Pre-Veterinary Technology) asyour major and indicate your intended semester. Submit official transcripts from all colleges previouslyattended directly to Blinn. Proof of Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Status- Applicants must be “college ready” in all sections basedon results of assessment or through exemption. See the following URL for full explanation. Your TSIstanding is generally indicated on your official sment.html Attend a Veterinary Technology informational meeting or visit us at the Bryan Preview Day.Complete the following prerequisite courses with at least a “C” in each course: BIOL 1406 MATH 1314 or 1324 (or higher) ENGL 1301These courses may be in progress during the Spring semester prior to admission, but final grades mustappear on the official transcript for non-Blinn students applying to Blinn. It is highly recommendedthat students have an overall GPA of 2.5 or greater. Must have a minimum of 40 hours veterinary supervised clinical experience under a licensedveterinarian or a licensed veterinary technician. Documentation is required. Documentation of Animal Experience and Customer Service – Applicant completes form andprovides supervisory contact information. Include as many copies of this form as needed. Documentation of Military service, if applicable. Three References: Applicant completes the Reference form. Additionally, applicants areencouraged to remind reference to provide a letter of recommendation for inclusion with yourrecommendation form. Blinn Veterinary Technology will contact each reference directly tocomplete the evaluation. Each reference has until May 7, 2021, to complete their evaluation. Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all other colleges/universities (other than Blinn)directly to Blinn College before submitting this application.
