Balance of Payments (BoP) CategoriesAll funds received into and paid from South Africa are required to be reported tothe South African Reserve Bank (SARB). This reporting relates to the reason forthe receipt or payment, which is reported to the SARB using Balance of Paymentcodes commonly referred to as BoP categories. When making a payment or onceyou have received funds from offshore, you will be required to select a BoP categorybefore this payment can be processed.There are many BoP categories, so we have put together a guide to help youchoose the correct code relating to the reason for the payment or receipt.To use the guide, click on the main reason that relates to your payment and a list ofapplicable BoP categories will be shown to you.Please note: as the categories/sub-categories stated below are provided by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB),these may be subject to change without prior notice.
