It includes a standard SAP report selectionscreen (which has a standard SAP user interface). This report screen is used to set the parameters forreport generation. Each report is generated using SAP standard authorisation controls, to ensure thatusers can only access the data to which they are authorised.Frequently Asked Questions:1. What type of data can be exported?You can export historical, active or planned versions of your organisation for scenario planning.You can select from a wide range of SAP organisation objects including Org Unit, Position andPeople data. Can I export a subset of an organisation?You can specify a starting point or starting org unit and then specify how many levels to includefrom that point.3. Can I view historical data?Using SAP’s powerful point-in-time reporting capability, the user can report on the organisation ofany specified period—in the past, present or future.4. Which types of organisation hierarchy can be reported?Users may select the most appropriate hierarchical structure for their organisation. OrgPlus Integrator for SAPDeploymentThe OrgPlus Integrator for SAP is packaged as a standard SAP transport file and can easily be installedin your SAP environment. As SAP can be customized by each customer, modification of the standardinstallation may be required to work with your SAP system.A wide range of options can be implemented at any given site. The (SAP) applications available to eachcustomer may vary, for example, some customers may have the full suite of mySAP web-enabledapplications, including Manager Self-Service or Employee Self-Service. Other customers may usecustom intranet applications for sharing SAP information on their intranets (for example a phonedirectory). The OrgPlus Integrator for SAP enables customers to extract SAP data in any SAPenvironment. However, to ensure that the solution is optimised for each client’s environment, a needsanalysis should be performed for each site in order to determine the appropriate options.Using the experience gained from other customers, the HumanConcepts professional services team canrecommend a best-practice implementation strategy to maximise the benefits to your organisation.AutomationIn a production system, manual export of data can be done for specialised organisational data (such ashistorical or proposed org charts); however, once implementation is complete most sites will want toautomate the export of organisational data from SAP.Data export from SAP can be automatically triggered based on a schedule, (for example, every eveningat 6:00 PM Monday-Friday). Once the data is exported, the OrgPlus scheduling functionality can then beused to automatically update and distribute charts. In addition to the native OrgPlus format, OrgPlus candistribute charts as Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, Word, PDF or OrgPlus Viewer documents.5
OrgPlus Integrator for SAPWeb Integration Using OrgPlus Viewer and HTMLUsing the OrgPlus Viewer ActiveX plug-in or by publishing to HTML, organisational charts can be viewedand navigated in a web browser. This includes integration in your mySAP implementation so that SAPusers can see the organisational chart directly from the mySAP interface.The process of publishing SAP HR data to the intranet can be fully automated, thereby reducing theworkload for HR professionals and empowering managers and employees to access organisationalinformation.6
