Because of thecommunity’s support, Interfaith was ableto impact the lives of more people whoneeded our services. We celebrate thatnearly 600 people chose to give to Interfaithfor the first time, and challenge ourselves tosteward those dollars to earn a second giftfrom those first-time donors.Interfaith is grateful for each person whoshares their financial gifts with us and areequally grateful to each person who sharestheir gift of time to be the “hands and feet”of Interfaith. It takes both to make theimpact our neighbors have come to expect-to continue to be the “Heart and Soul” ofthe community. As of November 2014, over 9,100 volunteers logged 28,330 hours for Interfaith! It ishumbling to consider. These volunteers areBoard Members, Member Congregations,Service Clubs, Corporate Groups, individualsand countless others. Without the important contribution of the finite resource oftime, Interfaith could only reach a fractionof the people who need our help. It is aformula that relies on every component tosucceed: Dollars raised Staff Volunteers Lives Changed. In 2014, Interfaith was fortunate to enjoythe most successful The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence Gala in Interfaith’shistory. Thanks to the vision of its volunteerco-chairs, the committee, staff support, andsponsors, the event reached a new level ofelegance, attendance and dollars raised. The evening also provided a platform toillustrate why our work is so important –it illustrated what is at the heart of whatInterfaith does – the people served. BeckyM. had never spoken in public prior to thatevening. She had never really shared herstory, but she shared it that night with over850 people to a rousing standing ovation.Becky first came to Interfaith five yearsago - didn’t have a job, and the electricity toher home had been turned off; days awayfrom being homeless with four children. She was referred to Interfaith by a friend, and in her own words, Becky shared “I wasdesperate, and I needed help. Let me tellyou, Interfaith did not just help me, theychanged my life.”Parent Alert!
