Loaded with photos, yearbooks—even anoriginal nurse’s cape (which community outreachworkers once donned in cold weather)—thewomen returned to see the changes in their formerdepartments and to enjoy each other’s company. The event was planned after the School's AlumnaeAssociation’s annual reunion last October, whereparticipants expressed an interest in revisiting thecampus. “ROOTED in the past, STANDING in thepresent, REACHING for the future”OUR MISSION GOOD HELP TO THOSE IN NEED A message from C.E.O. Sam Ross .to merge with Mercy Health, an Ohiobased Catholic health system. I amproud to affirm that this merger in noway diminishes Bon Secours’ continuedcommitment to the health and well-beingof the community we serve. Our values, vision, financial stability, and mission arefirmly aligned. Together, the two systemsprovide approximately 2 Million a day( 600 Million a year) in communitybenefits.Fifty years ago, as riots raged in citystreets and residents fled to the suburbs, the future of Baltimore could not havebeen more uncertain. By the end of thecentury it had lost nearly one third of itspopulation—along with the tax revenuesthat went with it. Here on the westside, Bon Secours was the only hospitalchoosing to remain to serve this deeplyvulnerable community. On multiple occasions through its history, BonSecours has publicly reaffirmed its commitment toexpanding community and economic developmentprograms and services in west Baltimore. In February, 2018, our parent organization (BonSecours Health System, Inc.) announced its intentLocal system named“Best Place to Work”Bon Secours Baltimore HealthSystem has been named oneof the top ten finalists amonglarge employers in the BaltimoreBusiness Journal’s 2018 Best Placeto Work competition among areaorganizations. In April, parent company Bon Secours HealthSystem was also honored when Galluprecognized it with its annual GreatWorkplace award for the seventhconsecutive year.www.BonSecoursBaltimoreFoundation.orgAs Bon Secours Baltimore prepares to celebrate the100th birthday of our hospital (and 138 years of totalservice) in 2019, now more than ever we embrace ourmission and ministry commitment to be good help tothose in need in west Baltimore.Thank you for your continued partnership andsupport.K-9 UNIT JOINS LOCAL CAMPUSAmong the new faces at Bon Secoursis a furry one.
