No American should have to gohungry. FNS also co-develops the DietaryGuidelines for Americans with the HHS Office ofDisease Prevention and Health Promotion.

What is the Food & Mood Project?Goal: Promote emotional wellness and reduce the impact of mental health andsubstance use issues in the SAMHSA Regions 7 and 8, and USDA FNSMountain Plains Region, K-12 population through identifying andimplementing strategies that address the intersection between behavioralhealth and food/food insecurity/culturally appropriate foods/schoolgardens.7Vision: Promoting and protecting behavioral health through changes topolicy, research, and funding that increase consistent access to nutritious,culturally appropriate food and school gardens.
