INTRODUCTIONWelcome to Travel InsurancePlease note: Other than headings and subheadings, terms shown in bold in this policy have the meanings given to them in the General definitionssection on pages 12 and 13.This policy document is only valid when issued in conjunction with a certificate of insurance and provided the required insurance premium hasbeen paid.The following cover is provided for each insured person. It is important that you refer to the individual sections of cover for full details of what youare entitled to should you need to make a claim. The sum insured and the excess applicable to any claim made will depend upon the level ofinsurance you have purchased. POLICY SUMMARYInsurance ProviderThis insurance is provided by Etihad AIRWAYS P.J.S.C and underwritten by AIG Europe Limited. Etihad is an appointed representative of AIGEurope Limited.Purpose of the InsuranceThe purpose of this travel insurance policy is to provide cover for losses arising as a result of specified events that occur before or during a trip,including: emergency medical expenses, theft or loss of baggage and cancellation. The cover provided is subject to certain limits and excesses, asset out in the Table of benefits (see page 2 of this document).Significant Features, Conditions and ExclusionsThe cover provided is subject to certain conditions and exclusions. The table below sets out the significant features of the cover and theconditions and exclusions that apply. LimitationsPolicy WordingReferenceExcludedcountriesThe geographical area which you are entitled to travel to is shown on your certificate of insurance. AIG issubject to compliance with US sanctions laws. For this reason, this policy does not cover any claims, loss,injury, damage or liability, benefits or services directly or indirectly arising from or relating to a plannedor actual trip to or through Cuba, Iran, Syria, Sudan, North Korea or the Crimea region.ExcludedIndividualsand entitiesThis policy will not cover any claims loss, injury, damage or legal liability sustained directly or indirectly byany individual or entity identified on any applicable government watch lists as a supporter of terrorism,narcotics or human trafficking, piracy, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, organised crime,malicious cyber activity, or human rights abuses. Lastly, no cover is provided for claims arising as a directresult of a situation highlighted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) where you have travelledto a specific country or to an area where, prior to your trip commencing, the FCO have advised against all(but essential) travel.To be eligible for cover all persons must be 75 years of age or under at the date of buying this insurance.The person buying this insurance must be 18 years of age or over at the date of purchase.This policy offers coverage only to individuals ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and is notavailable to non-residents of the United Kingdom.You and all other insured persons must have your main home in the UK, have a UK National Insurancenumber (where aged 16 years or over) and be registered with a doctor in the UK at the time you buy thispolicy. Residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man must have their main home in the ChannelIslands or the Isle of Man respectively and be registered with a local doctor.You must contact the AIG Travel Customer Services Department by e-mailing etihaduk@aig.com if youare planning to participate in a sport or activity which is not shown in the list of covered activities onpages 9 and 10 of the policy wording. Cover for the cancellationbenefit ends as soon as you start your trip. Cover under all other sections starts when you leave your home address in the United Kingdom (but notearlier than 24 hours before the booked departure time) or from the first day of the period of cover as shown on your certificate of insurance,whichever is the later.Cover ends when you return to your home address in the United Kingdom (but not later than 24 hours after your return to the United Kingdom) orat the end of the period of cover as shown on your certificate of insurance, whichever is earlier.Cover cannot start after you have left the United Kingdom. Each trip must begin and end in the United Kingdom. No cover is provided for one waytrips. In particular,claims will not be covered where at the time of purchasing thisinsurance any insured person has suffered from or received anyform of medical advice or treatment or medication for any of thefollowing conditions: any heart or circulatory condition; or any respiratory condition; or any cancerous condition.In addition, claims will not be covered where at the time ofpurchasing this insurance you or any insured person has sufferedfrom any of the following: you have a medical condition for which you are takingprescribed medication; or you have been referred to or seen by a medical specialist orneeded inpatient treatment within the last 12 months.Failure to declare a medical condition will result in claims relating tothe undisclosed condition not being covered. Please refer to Generalexclusion number 1 on page 13 for further information.Health of your relatives, travelling companions insuredelsewhere and business associatesThis policy will not provide cover for claims under Section A(Cancelling your trip) or Section C (Cutting your trip short) arisingfrom any medical condition you knew about at the time ofpurchasing this insurance and that affects a relative, businessassociate, a person who you have booked to travel with or arelative or friend living abroad who you had planned to stay with ifduring the three months before you purchased this policy, they: have been diagnosed with a new medical condition for whichthey need to take prescribed medication; have been referred to or seen by a medical specialist or neededinpatient treatment; are receiving or waiting for medical investigation or treatmentfor any undiagnosed condition or set of symptoms; or have been given a terminal prognosis.Changes to your health after purchasing your policyIf after the policyholder has paid the insurance premium you arediagnosed with a heart condition, a circulatory condition, arespiratory condition, cancer or for any other medical condition youreceive inpatient medical treatment or are placed on a waiting listfor investigation or medical treatment, you do not have a duty todisclose details of your change in circumstances to us before yourtrip.Provided you were not aware of the medical condition and youwere not aware you would need to receive medical treatment orundergo investigations at the date the policyholder paid theinsurance premium, cover will continue under the existing terms ofthe policy. However, if you are no longer able to travel on yourforthcoming trip due to your change in circumstances, you would beentitled to make a claim under Section A (Cancelling your trip) foryour costs which cannot be recovered from elsewhere.Failure to declare a medical condition will result in claims relating tothe undisclosed condition not being covered. Please refer to Generalexclusion number 1 on page 13 for further information.Health agreementsIf you are travelling to a country in the European Union, you shouldtake a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you. Applicationforms to obtain an EHIC are available from your local post office oryou can download an application form from the following website:www.ehic.org.uk. This entitles European citizens to benefit from thehealth agreements which exist between countries in the EuropeanUnion.If you are travelling to Australia or New Zealand and you needmedical treatment, you should enrol with Medicare or theequivalent scheme of these countries. Further information isavailable from the following website: www.hic.gov.au.If you present your EHIC to the treating doctor or hospital if youneed medical treatment within the European Union or you enrolwith Medicare when travelling to Australia or New Zealand, this willsave you paying the policy excess under Section B1 (Emergencymedical and other expenses outside of the United Kingdom) if yourmedical costs are reduced as a result of using your EHIC or Medicarebeing involved.ResidencyThis policy offers coverage only to individuals ordinarily resident inthe United Kingdom and is not available to non-residents of theUnited Kingdom.You and all other insured persons on this policy must have yourmain home in the United Kingdom and have a United KingdomNational Insurance number (if aged 16 years of age or over) and beregistered with a doctor in the United Kingdom at the time you buythis policy.Residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man must havetheir main home in the Channel Islands or Isle of Man respectivelyand be registered with a local doctor.Travel delays - EC RegulationsThis policy is not designed to cover costs which are met under theEC Regulation No. 261/2004. Under this Regulation if you have aconfirmed reservation on a flight, and that flight is delayed bybetween 2 and 4 hours (length of time depends on the length ofyour flight) the airline should offer you meals, refreshments andhotel accommodation. If the delay is more than 5 hours, the airlineshould offer to refund your ticket.
