Mind Control HypnosisNote to ReaderTraditional martial arts are filled with veteranfighters who have dedicated their lives to learn theircraft. The most senior among them have gained suchskill that they make their actions appear effortless. They may even have come to believe that if they cando it so easily that it must be easy for others. Thatclearly is not the case. They have forgotten the years of work andtraining they have put into learning and mastery. They may even treat students and newcomers likeidiots for not knowing what has taken them years tolearn. My experience has often left me cynical andjaded as if, at times, I've forgotten the seeds oflearning. To those I hypnotize I forget they aresometimes afraid and anticipate something magical. To those I teach I tend to be impatient with theirfear and timidity. Here is my very best advice to the reader whowants to learn and practice hypnosis: be fearless.Go out and test what you've learned until you'vemastered it. Don't wait to learn more when you haveenough to act now. This is good advice in hypnosisand in life.Any mistake you make by being bold andaudacious can usually be overcome by greateraudacity.Perhaps this sounds foolhardy, but timidity willonly yield you a.life half lived.Be Fearless.Dantalion Jones1www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisIntroductionAs with most of the books I've written, I willattempt to exploit the reader's sincere andsometimes twisted interest in mind control and, inthis case, specifically hypnosis. For many there has long existed a romancewith being able to talk someone into a lethargic androbotic state in which they will do things withoutany personal inhibition. The mind runs wild withpossibilities. Many a child's juvenile fantasies forpower and control have been fueled by witnessing aperforming hypnotist at the county fair. But theory and reality seldom come into aperfect convergence, and this holds true of hypnosisas well. However, my many years of doing hypnosis invarious settings helped prove to me several thingsthat most hypnotists will work fervently to deny or toexplain away as myth. I suspect this is because mosthypnotists have never dedicated themselves totesting the limits of the hypnotic arts. They havelikely been subjected to narrow minded training thatindoctrinated them to work within rigid constraints, and therefore hold limited ideas of what's possible. While it is wise to understand what theselimits are, I've never found a benefit to blindlyaccepting them. The power of hypnosis isunderrated because the power of the mind isunderrated. The mind can decide to control itsbreathing, heart beat, blood pressure and otherthings that were once thought to be involuntary.Studying, learning and practicing hypnosis andrelated skills like NLP have been passions for meand, were I to die today, I could say have played a2www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosismajor part in the "great work" of my life.I'd like to point out that this book will talkspecifically about the authoritarian style of hypnosis,as opposed to the permissive style of hypnosis madefamous by Milton Erickson.Authoritarian hypnosis is what people are usedto seeing when they go to a hypnosis show, and iswhat they are most familiar with from TV and media. It is an overt style of hypnosis where the hypnotistand subject have both agreed upon their roles. Thesubject agrees from the onset to follow thehypnotist's suggestions, and the hypnotist agrees tokeep the subject safe and offer good healthysuggestions. Many people have made powerful claims abouthow someone can be covertly hypnotized to dothings. Even I have written on this subject (see mybook M ind Control Language Patterns.) Let memake it clear that this book has none of that. You'llbe exposed to techniques and methodologies somewould consider "sneaky," but none of it is covert. And so in this book I intend to explain whatI've learned doing hypnosis on people who knowthey are going to be hypnotized. A portion of thisbook is likely to be new, profane and even sacrilege.I make no apology if a few icons fall during theseheresies. I seek only to tell what I've discovered.Let us not forget that Galileo and Charles Darwinwere also heretics. In this book I'll explain the theory andapplication of my experience in the art of hypnosis. This will include how hypnosis relates to the conceptof mind control, and a sincere look at the so-called"myths" of hypnosis. It will uncover a shocking lookat the concept of the human will, and a new but3www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosismeaningful definition of hypnosis. The details of thehypnotic experience will be described, beginning atthe setting used for hypnosis, the preparation forhypnosis, and what to say. Lastly, you'll be given thespecific hypnotic scripts that have been used tocreate positive and dramatic change in others. For the neophyte this book is designed toinform. For the experienced hypnotist it may informand also surprise.4www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisWhat is Mind Control?Story #1A man enters an AA meeting for the first time.He has personally experienced what alcohol hasdone to him, his family and his job. He sees all thepeople one by one describing their rbattle withaddiction. He feels as if this is his only hope for abetter life. He stands and sees the eyes of othersfocus on him, his voice quivering, "Hello, my nameis."Story #2The doctor has told her what she has alreadysuspected. She has CPD, cardiopulmonary disease. Her life long love affair with the cigarette will eitherhave to end now, or she will have to begin carrying abottle of oxygen wherever she goes. The thought ofstopping smoking creates a shot of anxiety as sheopens the paper and sees an advertisement thatreads "Stop Smoking With Hypnosis is 20 Minutes."Story #3The young woman enters her appointmentwith her counselor weighed down by a lifetime ofguilt. The secret that she has held all her life wasnow about to end. The words come out. Tears areshed. At the end of the session she notices alightness in her step. Something has changed withinher and she realized she can begin to make betterchoices in her life.Let's make it clear. Mind control is happeningall around us.This is not the fearful mind control envisioned5www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosisby the paranoid conspiracy theorist who see covertsigns and manipulations written on the back of adollar bill. This is the mind control that happenswithin the settings we walk through every day. It isthe mind control that happens in friendlyconversations and the subtle pleas that tug at us ineveryday life.Is mind control good or bad?Neither. Mind control is the sincere attempt toinfluence our thoughts to effect our lives in somemeasurable way. To look objectively at mind controlwe must abandon all the moralistic garbage othershave given it.Mind control is at the very core of ourcommunication. Even when we talk to ourselves(and we do it more often than we might admit) weare doing it to influence ourselves.People are even willing to employ the mindcontrol skills of others when their own mind controlskills fail. This is why people visit or hirepsychologists, hypnotists, and coaches. There often looms an aura of mystery aroundthese people but still their services are needed anddesired.Hypnosis is probably the most mysterious andmisunderstood form of mind control. There havebeen endless books written on the subject that oftensay much of the same thing. The authors of thesebooks are usually experienced and welh meaningprofessionals, but are invested in maintaining adivide between "mind control" and "hypnosis".I intend to close that divide.Hypnosis is a form of mind control. That doesnot make it bad. It makes it an extension of how wecommunicate. Nothing more.6www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisHypnosis Myths Made True(Based on my long and jaded experience)Like psychology, neuroscience ,or any field ofthe mind, it is hard to find anyone who can speakabout hypnosis with any degree of thoroughunderstanding. Those who can are usually peoplewho have at least some training and, likepsychologists and neurologists, are not likely to bepresent at every dinner party you go to.The result is that our understanding is basedon an imperfect knowledge, and we are left to relyon hearsay, fantasy and popular fiction to fill in theblanks. From this "half knowledge" comes mythsand legends about hy mosis. That we can call them myths gives mosthypnotists the license to dispel them which allowtheir subjects to feel safe and secure. But let us not forget that the word "myth" doesnot mean "false" or "lie." It means "story." We willreview these stories, and while others may try todispel them, we will explain and elaborate on them. The two biggest myths to be explained are asfollows: Some people cannotbe hypnotized. You cannot make someone do somethingagainst their will by using hypnosis. You may be a bit surprised.Let's first look at what hypnosis is.7www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisWhat Is Hypnosis?Do a little research and you'll find that thereare many people who have given differentdefinitions of hypnosis. For the most part, thesedefinitions are accurate and give a good idea of whatconstitutes hypnosis. Here are some of thedefinitions:James Braid (June 19, 1795 - March 25, 1860)The real origin and essence o f the hypnoticcondition is the induction o f a habit o f abstraction ormental concentration, in which, as in reverie orspontaneous abstraction, the powers o f the mind areso much engrossed with a single idea o r train o fthought, as, fo r the nonce, to render the individualunconscious of, o r indifferently conscious to, allother ideas, impressions, o r trains o f thought.Hippolyte Bemheim (1840-1919)To define hypnotism as induced sleep, is togive a too narrow meaning to the word, to overlookthe many phenomena which suggestion can bringabout independently o f sleep. I define hypnotism asthe induction o f a peculiar psychical condition whichincreases the susceptibility to suggestion. Often, it istrue, the sleep that may be induced facilitatessuggestion, but it is not the necessary preliminary.I t is suggestion that rules hypnotism.Ihave tried to show that suggested slediffers in no respect from natural sleep. The samephenomena o f suggestion can be obtained in naturalsleep, i f one succeeds in putting one's s e lf intorelationship [ra p p ort] with the sleeping personwithout waking him.8www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisThis new idea which I propose concerning thehypnotic influence, this wider definition given to theword hypnotism, perm its us to include in the sameclass o f phenomena all the various methods which, acting upon imagination, induce the psychicalcondition o f exalted susceptibility to suggestion[hyper-suggestibility] with o r without sleep.Sigmund Freud (May 6, 1856 - September 23,1939)It has long been known, though it has onlybeen established beyond a ll doubt during the lastfew decades, that it is possible, by certain gentlemeans, to p u t people into a quite peculiar mentalstate very sim ilar to sleep and on that accountdescribed as 'hypnosis.' [.] The hypnotic stateexhibits a great variety o f gradations. In its lightestdegree the hypnotic subject is aware only o fsomething like a slight insensibility, while the m ostextreme degree, which is marked by specialpeculiarities, is known as 'somnambulism' onaccount o f its resemblance to the naturalphenomena o f sleep-walking. But hypnosis is in nosense a sleep like our nocturnal sleep o r like thesleep produced by drugs. Changes occur in it andmental'-functions are retained during it which areabsent in norm al sleep. The UK Book of Statues"Hypnotism" includes hypnotism, mesmerismand any sim ilar act o r process which produces o r isintended to produce in any person any form o finduced sleep o r trance in which the susceptibility o fthe mind o f that person to suggestion o r direction is9www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosisincreased o r intended to be increased but does notinclude hypnotism, mesmerism o r any sim ilar act orprocess which is self-induced. [The Hypnotism Act,1952]The British Medical AssociationA temporary condition o f altered attention inthe subject which m aybe induced by another personand in which a variety o f phenomena may appearspontaneously o r in response to verbal o r otherstimuli. These phenomena include alterations inconsciousness and memory, increased susceptibilityto suggestion, and the production in the subject o fresponses and ideas unfamiliar to him in his usualstate o f mind. Further, phenomena such asanaesthesia, paralysis and rigidity o f muscles, andvasomotor changes can be produced and removed inthe hypnotic state. [BMA, 'Medical use o fHypnotism', 1955]Dave Elman (1900-1967)Hypnosis is a state o f mind in which the critica lfaculty o f the human is bypassed, and selectivethinking established.Gil BoyneHypnosis is a natural state o f mind withspecial identifying characteristics:1. An extraordinary quality o f relaxation.2. An emotionalized desire to satisfy thesuggested behaviour: The person feels likedoing what the hypnotist suggests, providedthat what is suggested does n ot generateconflict with his b e lie f system.10www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosis3. The organism becomes self-regulating andproduces normalization o f the central nervoussystem.4. Heightened and selective sensitivity tostim uli perceived by the five senses and fou rbasic perceptions.5. Immediate softening o f psychic defenses. The UK Council for PsychotherapyHypno-Psychotherapy originates in proceduresand practices discovered and recorded over the lastthree hundred years. The firs t form al explorationand beneficial application o f hypnotic phenomenabegan in the 1750's. Increasing awareness, over thelast 100 years, o f the pervasiveness and im portancein human experience o f what are now m oreappropriatelydescribedas'alteredstatephenomena' has led to huge shifts in semerging from modern neuro-science and muchincreased consistency in application. This has beenaccompanied by the creation o f a substantialscientific literature.Hypnosis describes a range o f naturallyoccurring states o f altered awareness which mayvary from momentary distractions and 'absences'through much enhanced states o f relaxation to verydeep states o f inward focus and awareness. Themental processes which can occur in any o f thesestates, appropriately utilised, are generally fa r m oreflexible and potentially fa r more pow erful ineffecting change than those we can achieve in m osteveryday states o f active conscious awareness. These states may be induced quite form ally o r quitenaturalistically, in an almost unnoticeable way,11www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosisdepending on the requirem ent o f the problem , thecapability o f the practitioner and the needs o f theclient.Aswell as alleviating a rangeofdisadvantageous habits and many physical ailments,Hypno-Psychotherapy also deals in deep-seatedproblem s involving themes and procedures in manyways sim ilar to those addressed by many otherbranches o f Psychotherapy. Hypno-Psychotherapiststake a wide-ranging and eclectic view in helpingclients to understand and to alleviate psychologicaldifficulties.A t one end o f the spectrum HypnoPsychotherapists base their diagnostic work andtherapeutic strategies in modem informationprocessing models whilst others have emphases inother orientations ( e.g. Cognitive, CognitiveAnalytic, Psychodynamic o r Counselling modes ). Ina ll cases, practice differs from other forms o fpsychotherapy in the deliberate ( direct and indirect) use o f altered m ental states and supportingtherapeutic structures as the principal medium fo reffecting change. It should be emphasized that the methods andstrategies used in Hypno-Psychotherapy, thoughpow erful and often speedy in effect, also respect andare attuned to the qualities and characteristics o fthe individual client involved. They seek to utilizeand enhance the resources and capabilities thatreside in all people, and do not by any meansrequire the client to respond to any standardizedtechnique o r to fit into any standardized pattern. While flexibility is paramount, the workingrelationship in Hypno-Psychotherapy strives fo requality between clien t and therapist, in providing a12www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosissafe and supportive environment where the clientcan explore and clarify relevant personal matters. Inencouraging agreed m odification o f the client'sbeliefs, emotional responses and behaviour, theproblem may require the therapist to assume a m oreactive o r directive role. In shorter termengagements, it can be used to inculcate skills andovercome lim itin g habits o r personal and socialinhibitions. During longer-term therapy, the workingrelationship may present a dynamic context fo r theclient to examine and work through im portant self protection issues, including the refram ing andresolution o f challenging early experiences andliberation from previous blocks to personaldevelopment.Hypno-Psychotherapy may be valuable toanyone seeking to resolve specific problems, o r fo rpersonal development.Whitney Hibbard and Raymond WorringHypnosis is a controlled dissociated state inwhich the conscious, critical, intellectual, andlogical portion o f one's mind is disassociated, inhibited, misdirected, o r distracted, allowing fo rdirect access to one's subconscious, thereby makingtheelicitationo f natural and preexistingsubconscious mental mechanisms possible. Now that you have an idea of what othersthink hypnosis is and, if you have experiencedhypnosis, these definitions can all seem accurate, forthe most part. Here is the Dantalion Jones definition ofhypnosis:13www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisHypnosis is the exact follow ing o f suggestions inorder to create a meaningful experience. That's it. Short, simple and to the point.Hypnosis is the exact follow ing o f suggestions inorder to create a meaningful experience. In looking at the parts of this definition we'llstart with the word suggestion. A suggestion is justthat, a suggestion. It is not an order, command orimperative.A suggestion does not have to befollowed. At some level there must be an agreementby the hypnotic subject to follow the suggestions. This can be an overt or implied agreement, butwithout following the suggestions nothing can takeplace. The next words to examine are exactfollowing. Following suggestions exactly allows thehypnotist to describe in detail the experience thesubject is to mentally enact. It allows the subject tofeel emotions that are suggested, reactions andresponses that are suggested, and to make possiblethings that at one time might not have been withinthe subject's realm of reality. To create a meaningful experience are theremaining words. To understand why a meaningfulexperience is needed, consider that most people whowant to make changes already know what theyshould do. Overweight people know that they shouldlimit their food and increase their physical activity, but simply knowing the information does not makepeople change. On the other hand, when people gothrough experiences that are meaningful to themthey can make dramatic and significant changes14www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosisimmediately.Consider people who have gone through theexperience of a religious conversion. They have beenknown to change their behaviors in a major anddramatic way. The same is true when one has a lifethreatening experience. In both experiences they reevaluate their lifeand behaviors and from that meaningful experiencethe information became important enough to createa new behavior. The idea of a meaningful experience allows usto include numerous life changing experiences thatpeople go through, from rites of passage to militarytraining. By adding the exact follow ing o fsuggestions you include the traditional hypnoticexperience. So the key to being good at inducing hypnosishas several components.1. The hypnotist must get from the hypnoticsubject either an overt or implied agreementto follow the suggestions exactly.2. Thehypnotistmustgiveacceptablesuggestions that will create a meaningfulexperience for the subject. Before we explore forming acceptablesuggestions and how to get agreement to followthem exactly, lets first look at the various othermyths of hypnosis.15www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisWho Can and Cannot Be Hypnotized?People will often ask a hypnotist, "are therepeople who can't be hypnotized?"The fact is that the hypnotic state is a naturalstate that people go in and out of all the time. Theonly real difference is that in hypnosis someone isguiding you through that state.Consider what happens in those momentsbefore you drift off to sleep. You close your eyes, youstill your body, and your attention begins to turnaway from the outside world as you fall into an innerworld that is all your own. This is very much like thehypnotic state with the exception that someone isguiding you through that state.Understand that everybody can enter thatstate; therefore, anybody can be hypnotized. However, whether you, I, or someone else canhypnotize them is a completely different matter.More on this soon. There are conditions where a person will notrespond to hypnosis. These are: People with a low IQ or a brain disorder. To be hypnotized you must first have anattention span, and some neurological problems caninhibit one's ability to pay attention. As a generalrule these problems must be severe. Schizophrenicsalready have a tenuous grasp on reality andhypnotizing them is simply best avoided. AttentionDeficit Disorder (ADD) is not always enough toprevent hypnosis, although the hypnotist might haveto get creative.16www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosis People drunk or on drugs. While alcohol removes inhibitions it does notmake hypnosis easier. Most drugs will inhibit thebrain from responding to anything. The onlyexception to this is a rare class of highly controlleddrugs called "hypnotics." The most well known issodium pentathol, also known as "truth serum." IdiotsI use the term idiots to describe a very smallclass of people who come to a hypnotist with acomplete misconception of hypnosis that even thehypnotist cannot dispel. Even though the hypnotisttells them to "follow the suggestions" and "hypnosisdemands your cooperation" they believe that to beconvinced they are hypnotized they must be unableto resist the hypnotists suggestions. Thus, theyresist all the hypnotists suggestions and they say "Ican't be hypnotized."These latter group of people are thankfullyrare and will justify their reactions by what they'veseen on TV and in the movies. To them anything thatis less than magical, instant, dramatic and puppet like submission to the hypnotist means they cannotbe hypnotized. ChildrenActually, the fact is that most children can behypnotized. Children have not learned to inhibittheir imagination so the truth is that children can'tnot be hypnotized.17www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisWho NOT to HypnotizeThere are many hypnotists in the world whoare compassionate, patient, caring and empatheticpeople and who are usually willing to help anyonewith their skills of hypnosis. I am not one of thosepeople. While I generally like people and love usinghypnosis I am also very lazy and don't like to work. There are people who may genuinely want my helpbut who I've learned to refer to someone else. Thesepeople don't fall into a "type," but there are certainbehaviors I look out for. Here is my personal list ofred flags of people to avoid: People who want to negotiate down your fee. People consistently late for appointments. People who monopolize your time with phonecalls and stay beyond the appointment time. People who expect you to save them, and thosewho see themselves as perpetually victimizedby the world. People who have been diagnosed withborderline personality disorder, as thesepeople will likely demonstrate all of the abovebehaviors. The group of people who expect you to savethem may seem like good candidates as hypnosissubjects because they would seem to be willing tofollow the instructions you give them. While this may18www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control Hypnosisbe the case on occasion, it is more likely that youwill have someone who has a pathologicalcommitment to their own misery. To explain further, their entire identity isbased on a belief that "no one knows my pain," andto remove their pain will leave them in chaos, inspite of what they say. You may help them and for amoment they will notice they are not feelingmiserable, but they will then have to create anentirely new perception of who they are. If you helpthem you may discover that they will begin toinstruct you in how everything you are doing to helpthem is not the right fit for them, but they will stillwant your help.If you work with this type of personality it islikely they will begin to cancel out all the goodreasons you got into business. If you have a lot of confidence in your abilityyou may want to try to help them, but my advise forthese people is to quickly and kindly refer them tosomeone else. It's a good rule to stick with clientswhom you can categorize at "the worried well."Now let's tackle the really BIG myth; thatpeople cannot be hypnotized against their will.Hold on to your seat because most hypnotistswon't want you to learn this information.19www.MindControlPublishing.com

Mind Control HypnosisCan People Be Made To Do Things AgainstTheir Will? The audience has filled the seats. As the lightsgo down out steps the gentleman in a tuxedo whoinvites people to a row of chairs and proceeds tohypnotize them
